Hello fellow Pozible humans, you wonderful creatures!
I am Phoebe like the Moon, a quirky, fey lass, from the east coast of Australia.
I never thought I would be a musician, never ever ever.
I was going to be an author. A writer who publishes novels. And then my mum got cancer and I got hardcore writers block.
I couldn’t write a word.
In desperation I picked up the Artists Way – DETERMINED to cure my writers block and get on with the dream of writing. And somehow instead I picked up a guitar.

These are the songs I could express where my pen could not.



I guess you’d describe me as a singer songwriter with a hint of the magical, ever so slightly ominous worlds of those hardcover clothbound faerietale books from your childhood. You know the ones…Where little girls wear red shoes and dance until their legs fall off, and humans turn into polar bears because of an ancient curse put on their great, great, great grandmother. Those stories weave their way through my songs like maps to another way of being.

Since picking up a guitar I’ve gone on to pick up the celtic harp, the piano and the ukulele. Plus, discovered my 6-year-old flute lessons were not a waste after all. But above and beyond that I’ve discovered the joy of singing.



I’ve wanted to share my music for years now, but not quite been brave enough…until now! Being the fanciful, imaginative creature that I am I decided to bring my music into the world as an art form, and have treated the whole process as a creative DIY project :) My wildly talented partner Sam and I recorded the whole double album together – he engineered, edited, mixed, and produced the entire thing, capturing my music with absolute love.

                    

Into the Wildwood evokes the untamed wilderness in our hearts, filled with forest soundscapes, haunting harp and violin melodies. Sam spent weeks wandering in the forest at night capturing field recordings of the mountain wilds near our home. 

Bird Whisperer is raw, honest and vulnerable. A rare series of acoustic campfire sessions capturing my heart, my instrument and my voice.

Together as a Double Album they are called Barefoot Amongst The Stars.

NOW The best part!

The tracks are DONE and are about to be sent off to be Mastered, and then we are printing them to vinyl! And not just any old printing! They are being sent off to be individually and lovingly hand-cut to vinyl, old-school style, by a vinyl-cutting artisan taught by a master in Germany (Exciting!!!). We are only cutting 25 of each album to Vinyl - so they will be a rare collectors item ;)

I will then be lovingly hand painting the vinyl's recycled cardboard record jackets with a Snippet of my own creation. (Snippetting is a form of artwork I invented that captures life's small and quirky delights).

         

We will also be sending the tracks off to be printed to CD in singles and in double gatefold for the humans who do not yet own a record player (But who soon will because we all know Vinyl sounds best) ;)

BUDGET

Basically your kind and wonderful contribution will help us cover the following:

$900 - Mastering

$1450 - Vinyl Cutting (by hand at Small Run)

$350 - High Quality Recycled Vinyl Jackets and post packaging

$1600 - CDS (in high quality recycled cardboard cases)

Sub Total = $4300

+ $200 - Pozible Fees

TOTAL = $4500


This will cover the costs of printing the music to Vinyl and CD, however any extra money received will go towards sharing this music with the world through: promotion; the creation of the Album Launch event in Byron Bay on August 13th 2015 (most specifically to pay my amazing support musicians!); the album launch tour in Australia, Europe and the Americas (Plus we are open to anyone else who wants us to come visit in any other spot in the world!).

~ Perhaps not everyone owns a record player!?
Oh dear! However, as there is a wonderful Vinyl Revival happening across the continent as we speak, I feel certain that my deliciously hand cut, hand painted offerings will be snapped up and greatly appreciated (Even if only as a wall hanging whilst the super high quality 96K WAV files of the songs are being enjoyed from the lounge) ;)

~ 36 Days for a campaign? What panache! 
Yes I do believe this is possible, what with my many, wonderful friends out there across the globe who undeniably want to hear this music (not to mention they want to CELEBRATE that I am finally, finally doing this!!!!

~ Promotion, Promotion, Promotion!
That is the question, and that is the answer! How? Through my delightfully extraordinary friends, and delightfully acquired skills at the amazing Arts PR company I had the honour of working at several years ago! :)
