Grid Face is a short film that follows an architect, Felix, who is leading a double life as a graffiti writer. Constantly being forced to compromise creatively at work, Felix finds solace in his tactical graffiti missions. The topics of architecture and graffiti represent the sliding scale of creative freedom, and, ultimately, these worlds come colliding together in a catastrophic, yet rewarding, denouement.

The short film is a part of my thesis for Murdoch University's Honours Program in Screen Production. As part of this program, I have undertaken extensive research on the sociopsychological impact of creativity for artists. Essentially, this film tackles the notion of the dream of creative freedom. I believe most artists experience this yearning, especially in this pluralistic modern era. From my studies, I have come to learn that creativity will be optimal when one’s motivations are primarily intrinsic.

We have a highly motivated crew and cast backing the film and are confident we can bring a quality vision to life, though we do require support for this vision to become fully realised.

On top of this, we are searching for the perfect location for a medium sized architecture firm. With the same sort of modern and minimal aesthetic style shown above. Again a 1-2 Day shoot (preferably on a weekend.) Would appreciate the help!



Lastly, we are searching for someone who can work for next to nothing, to design photo realistic renderings of 3 buildings with a similar triangular/geometric style. 

Though there will be challenges all filmmakers encounter such as pre-production difficulties regarding scheduling and location acquisition, to on set revisions of camera and performance, there are a number of particular obstacles that we must face and overcome for Grid Face. For one, we are experimenting with special motion capture processes for the dream sequences within the film and our method with the Xbox Kinect %20 DSLR combo seems to very temperamental at this point in time.
