Paint it Red 2016 Event Series

In 2016, Paint it Red is aiming ever higher to bring together our communities in musical and artistic celebration of ever-increasing standard. Over a five-event series, we will feature main music artists Paul Dean, Stephen Emmerson, Vanessa Tomlinson, Steve Newcomb, John Hoffman, and Graeme Jennings, and a host of other musical and artistic personalities in collaborative concerts that will also include upcoming members of Brisbane’s youth chamber music, improvisation, and visual art scenes.

2016 is going to be our biggest year yet and we need your help to make it the best it can possibly be. Paint it Red has so far been run on a shoe-string budget and we now want to give you the best we can - but we can’t do it alone. By contributing to Paint it Red in 2016, you’ll be helping to perpetuate a growing movement of musical and artistic collaboration, and helping to shape the future direction of that movement.

This project means a lot to us, and we know that it’s already been both a wonderful opportunity and an excellent forum for many young artists and musicians to perform and share themselves and their art with their own communities, and that of other artists. Paint it Red is here to stay - help us to make that a promise!

How The Funds Will Be Used

Up until now, all Paint it Red performers and visual artists have appeared out of goodwill, and it's now time to step up our game. This will mean bigger names on each program, and the possibility of new and exciting collaborations. As our story grows, so do the costs associated with each event, so raising this capital will allow us to reach for the stars in 2016 and help us to deliver our most exciting series to date.

The Challenges

Our biggest challenge for our 2016 series at Jugglers is funding. We have a great venue, a stellar line-up of featured musicians and visual artists, and a drive to deliver our best year yet of collaborative events. We have learnt a lot and grown enormously from the last couple of years of Paint it Red, so help us to make this next year incredible!

A lovely warm feeling
Get that lovely warm feeling right down in the cockles of your heart that you’ve supported live and local chamber music in Brisbane!
Your name in art
Paint it Red will commission one of our 2016 feature visual artists to create a large canvas work based around the names of the people who choose this reward. The finished piece will be displayed throughout the 2016 event series and will be thereafter received by the Jugglers collection. Show your support for Paint it Red and get your name in art!
Handwritten thank-you
Get that lovely warm feeling in your cockles, plus a handwritten note from either Luke or Molly thanking you for your contribution. Included will be either a sketch of a woodland creature or a haiku. Let’s hope you get Molly - Luke’s handwriting is terrible and he's not very good at drawing woodland creatures.
Non-specific beverage mug
What better way to consume your tea or coffee or dragon's tears or chicken soup or imaginary stage beverage that you've just botched by drinking too quickly and now everyone thinks you're a bad actor than in a Paint it Red mug?
Paint it Red T-Shirt
A stylish and practical cotton T-Shirt in either black or white - made to order!
Full access
Guaranteed entry to all 2016 Paint it Red events. This is great value, unless you're already paying concession, in which case maybe get a mug.
Original artwork
Original artwork by Paint it Red illustrator and designer Megan Crocombe (http://www.megancrocombe.com/) of you having a thoroughly splendid time at Paint it Red - details to be determined by you!
Private performance
A private performance in your home by a Paint it Red ensemble led by Luke or Molly. Also a mug and most likely a t-shirt. We're not cheap.
New work!
A new piece of chamber music to be written by a Brisbane composer will be commissioned by Paint it Red, dedicated to you, and performed at the 2016 event of your choosing. Instrumentation and debuting players to be determined between yourself and Paint it Red. Leave your lasting mark on the year!
Original reaction art
Ownership of any one piece of reaction artwork created during the 2016 event season. It'd be, at the very least, a talking point.
