Hi. We’re Saskwatch.
We’re a 9-piece band from Melbourne, Australia. We’ve been together for about 4 years, and in August 2012, we released our debut album ‘Leave It All Behind’.
We've been lucky enough to have had tremendous support right from the beginning - from the curious passers-by chucking us a couple of dollars out the front of Flinders Street Station to the legends who patiently lined the cobbled bluestone of AC/DC Lane to see us during one of our Cherry residencies. You've seen us go from busking on the streets to performing on the stages of some of this country's best festivals, and you've cheered us on every step of the way. We wouldn’t be where we are today without you. To every person who has come to a show, bought an album, or just let us know that you like what we do - thank you.
We're about to take the next step as a band, and we're asking you to help us make it happen.
This year, we’ve been invited to perform at Glastonbury Festival in the UK, and at BlackisBack Festival in Spain. Glastonbury is one of the world’s biggest festivals. This year, it is headlined by Arctic Monkeys and The Rolling Stones (amongst hundreds of other bands). It would be incredible for us to build on our last European tour in 2012, play alongside some of the best artists in the world, and further expose us to the European market.
But touring with a band of 9 people is expensive. A tentative budget to get to these festivals, as well as play a handful of other shows in Europe, has put the cost at A$60,000 (flights, accommodation, transport within Europe, sound engineers etc.). We’ve managed to raise most of this amount, but we’re asking you to help us raise A$20,000 to take care of flights for the band (9 band members @ approx. A$2000 per flight).
We have put together heaps of great stuff that we want to give you to show you how much we appreciate your help. In exchange for a donation, you can get yourself anything from a postcard from Glastonbury or a personalised mix tape to dinner with the band or even one of Nkechi's amazing stage dresses - plus there's a whole lot of music and signed merch too.
We want to keep making music and we want as many people as possible to hear it. We're incredibly grateful for your continuing support. We love you all.
