The Redemption Film Collective is steadily building a good body of work. Following is a list of current projects or projects that have been shot in the last 6 months. Many of us have worked together on these projects in the last 6 months although we officially formed the group and gave it an official name in early May.

(2) 7 x 3 minute films for Introducing God (due for release in the second half of 2013).


(3) Work on the Sydney wide "Jesus Brings" campaign (current/ongoing).

WHAT ARE WE DOING? 


We're producing a 10 minute film based on a Bible verse for an international speed filmmaking competition called 168 Film. First prize is up to $1 Milion USD to Co-Produce a Feature Film with Echolight Studios! 


HOW DOES THE 168 SPEED FILMMAKING COMPETITION WORK? 


On the official start date, all teams are randomly assigned a Bible verse and have 10 days for pre-production and 7 days to shoot, edit and deliver their film. Over the last ten years 168 Film has collected over 600 films based on Scripture. It's a great Christian resource and we're looking forward to adding to it.


WHO ARE WE? 


The Redemption Film Collective. A group of Christian filmmakers (industry professionals and film students) based in Sydney, Australia. We produce content that references Jesus as he is presented in the Bible and feature strong Christian characters.

Our Script Consultant, Tony Morphett, has worked as a writer, script editor and series creator (incl co-creator of Blue Heelers and Sea Patrol) for over 40 years. See http://tonymorphett.com/cv-resume

WHAT ARE OUR GOALS FOR THIS PROJECT? 


Our first goal is to craft a great story. Story is king! So we will endeavour to give ourselves every opportunity to write an entertaining story which does justice to the Bible verse we are assigned. Our second goal is to tell the story well. This is where we need some crowd funding support.


HOW MUCH SUPPORT DO WE NEED? 


There are two answers to that question: 


(1) $2,500 will finance this 10 minute film adequately (many of our cast and crew have agreed to work pro bono and others are giving us "mates rates"). This is our minimum target. 


(2) $6,300 is our "dream" goal. This amount of support will give us much more creative freedom. We will use the additional support for (i) additional time with our writing team, (ii) additional crew to share the workload, (iii) some additional camera, grip and lighting equipment to enhance production values, (iv) another professional actor to maximise on screen performances and perhaps (v) composition of original music.


WHATS THE FUTURE HOLD? 


The immediate future for content-creators such as ourselves lies in being able to source project money from our audience and deliver quality projects in a timely and cost-effective manner. Our 168 Film entry is an important project for our development as a team and to expand our networks.


FINAL WORD:


We have an experienced team that is capable of producing a film that is a finalist in this competition. Winning it will fund our feature film in development. Being a finalist will help us to make contact with faith friendly producers and studios.
