Dear friends, family, supporters and music lovers.

We are Bonney Read, a 4 piece, all girl (almost) rock band from Sydney and this October we will be recording all our latest tracks, written since the band’s lineup was finalised in late 2012. For us, this is it, this is the real deal, and it’s time to take our music to the next level.

We will be funding our own pre-production at Damien Gerard Studios throughout July in Sydney, before (and here’s the really exciting bit) heading down to Thirty Mill studios in Melbourne to work with Mark Opitz and Collin Wynne, famous for their work with the likes of Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, The Angels, Hoodoo Gurus, Cold Chisel, KISS and many more of the world's rock royalty.

Working with such talented and well-respected engineers does not come cheap, but we can assure you that the product will be worth the expense. To show our gratitude for your support, you will be given first access to our new material as soon as we’ve completed our work.

For nearly six years, Bonney Read has been carving out a name for herself in the bourbon-soaked, glitter and hairspray smothered, cigarette burned depths of broken hearts and the outrageous highs of raucous nights with the best people in the world.

From the stage she has hurled soaring rock anthems, packed with blazing guitar licks, heartstring-tearing vocals and the most infectious grooves into the faces sweat-soaked, fist-pumping, furiously dancing crowds since day one. It’s been a hell of a ride.

Any support you can offer brings us one step closer to a dream come true, and there aren’t words to express our appreciation and thanks.

THE PROJECT

Bonney Read has been together as a band for almost 6 years, writing songs, playing the Sydney live music scene and recording a number of tracks that are available to be downloaded online for free. The band finalised its lineup about 12 months ago, and since then have procured management and caught the attention of Sony through the Hard Rock Cafe "Uprising" band competition. The band has new material and have been offered an amazing opportunity to record this coming October with Mark Opitz and Colin Wynne, award winning Australian producers, renowned for their work with Rose Tattoo, AC/DC, The Angels, Hoodoo Gurus, Cold Chisel and KISS.

Recording an EP with Opitz and Wynne requires the band to travel to Melbourne and spend a week in their recording studio. The week in Melbourne will cost at least $5000, which is the target for Bonney Read's campaign. After taking into account mastering, cover design, printing, travel, advertising, equipment maintenance, etc, the band are well aware that $5000 will only cover a portion of what the EP will end up costing. In preparation for their EP, the band have self-funded recording time at Sydney's Damien Gerard Studios with the intention to have their songs as perfect as possible before their time with Opitz. All members of Bonney Read work full time jobs to support their musical habits. The band would like to take advantage of this amazing opportunity, but really need help to raise a the funds. With a large support network of fans online and present at shows, Bonney Read are optimistic that their Pozible Campaign will deliver the much needed funds required to fulfil their dreams of working with such an amazing producer and in turn, allow them to make some serious noise in the Australian music scene!
