With the support of Arts NSW, FORM Dance Projects, Riverside Theatres and Ars Musica Australis, the Dance Makers Collective will present their premiere performance
Big Dance in Small Chunks at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta in October 2013.
The project will see all eleven members of the Dance Makers Collective presenting and/or performing in the show, collaborating with five composers, four musicians, a visual artist, costume designer, set designer and lighting designer. The show will be made up of nine new works intimately woven together into a program of exciting ideas!
The artists involved include:
Cyrus Meurant (composer)
Mitchell Mollison (composer)
George Capelas (composer)
Gavin Clarke (composer)
James Brown (composer)
Todd Fuller (visual artist)
Guy Harding (lighting designer)
Erth Visual and Physical Inc (set construction)
Cassandra Murray (costume designer)
AND the Dance Makers Collective!
The dance works are well and truly in development, but our amazing collaborators and the sets, costumes, sound and lights they are producing to tie together this mammoth presentation are as yet unfunded. Our vision is diverse and explosive, so we've recruited some incredibly gifted and exciting young artists to help achieve that, all we hope to do now is find the money to finance these elements.
To cover these costs we need to raise roughly $10,000 - so we thought we would set a target of $5000 and work our way forward from there! As a fresh new collective of dance artists we want nothing more than to breed a positive and inclusive environment for creating bright and innovative work that audiences will be inspired by and sucked into! So along with the little gifts we promise to give you to match your pledges we most certainly wish to give our supporters an amazing show that is full of the energy and excitement we have as budding young dance makers in Sydney.
