Over the past five years we have shared our award-winning productions with audiences in Holland, Norway, South Korea, England, the USA and Austria, and we are committed to continuing to promote Australia’s best artists and work-for-the-stage to the world.
While overseas touring is expensive, we remain undeterred! Peter Pan's production and touring costs sit outside of our 2013 operating budget so, to get us there, we thought we'd dip our toes in the crowd-funding waters to help cover our flights, accommodation, allowances and other production expenses.
WE'RE ASKING YOU TO HELP US TAKE THIS MAGICAL SHOW TO NEW YORK.

Because this is a new fundraising strategy for us we've set our Pozible campaign goal at a modest $10,000. We actually need to raise a total of $100,000 to cover flights and accommodation alone. The good news is that The Andrew Cameron Family Foundation has offered a matching gift of up to $50,000, so you can double the impact of your support and get us to the finish line twice as fast.
We have grand plans to tour even more shows overseas in the future. If this campaign is a raging success and raises more than we need for Peter Pan, we'll put the additional money into our touring fund to be used to take shows on the road in the future.
ABOUT THE SHOW
Everybody knows Peter Pan. He’s the boy who hasn’t grown up in 113 years. But one night not long ago we sat down and read J. M. Barrie’s original play and we found ourselves in the presence of something faaaaaar stranger, far wilder and far more brilliant than Disney ever let us believe.

This is the story of a strange boy who comes through the window of an ordinary family and takes the children on an adventure to the bush. Well, to Neverland. It is also a mad festival of bedtime and storytime, of uncatchable girls who have a thing for you and Lost Boys who don’t have a thing for you, of rip tides, pirates, ticking crocs, growing up, going home, mothers, fathers, dogs, dreams, and that mad pirate fiend and great big grown-up Captain Hook!
Peter Pan opened at Belvoir in early 2013 and its sold out season delighted audiences of all ages. Directed by Ralph Myers, Belvoir’s Artistic Director, dreamer, designer and boy leader himself, the show has a cast of Australia’s most ridiculous actors.
The New Victory Theater is the only Broadway theatre dedicated solely to programming work for young audiences. After Belvoir’s highly acclaimed and successful tour of The Book of Everything in 2012, we are delighted to be returning with a play that makes even adults confess to believing in fairies!

Please note that the tax deductible component of gifts received will exclude the material value of Stays in the Vines rewards. Belvoir will issue a tax receipt for the tax deductible amount and email it to you once the campaign has closed.
We will mail postcards (from New York) and signed photos (from our office) but not set pieces or props. You'll need to collect those from us in Surry Hills.
STAYS IN THE VINES INFORMATION:Stays in the Vines specialise in high quality unique accommodation in the Hunter Valley wine region. From intimate hideaways for couples, beautiful country houses for small to large groups, through to large estates and retreats for up to thirty guests, Stays in the Vines provide self contained accommodation options in beautiful locations and present a stylish comfortable environment with attention to detail.
Stays are valid Monday - Wednesday nights only. A security deposit of $500 is taken against your credit card details, which may be used to cover incidental items such as (but not limited to): telephone charges on the house landline, any breakages or damage incurred during your stay, or cleaning charges in excess of the normal level of cleaning. Property access codes will only be issued once registration has been completed. A voucher is valid to 30/3/2014 and is subject to availability. Property availability is limited to selected properties only and confirmation is at the discretion of Stays in the Vines management. This validity cannot be extended and restrictions apply on public and school holiday periods, concert weekends and special events. Accommodation booking is made through Stays in the Vines on 0488 881 100. Value of voucher is based on full rack rate plus linen, cleaning costs and welcome gift. Voucher is not transferable nor can it be redeemed for cash.

The Challenges
Belvoir has been creating and presenting work at home for nearly 30 years, and establishing a regular, international touring network is an increasingly important part of our plans for the future.
Without the critical support Belvoir receives from all levels of Government, trusts & foundations, our corporate partners and individual donors, we simply wouldn't be able to share our work with audiences here, or abroad. We're always looking for creative ways to cover the cost of doing what we do, and if this crowd-funding idea flops (please no!), we'll look under rocks and knock on doors until we find what we need to make it happen. We're kind of tenacious like that.

The Lost Boys will make a wish for you while singing Alicia Keys' Empire State of Mind, at the top of the actual Empire State Building. (We'll film it and email you a copy)
Tinkerbell will sprinkle some fairy dust in the Hudson River in your honour. (it will actually just be sand, but come on, use your imagination)
Wendy will send you a (hand-written) postcard from New York City. (This is an actual thing. You will actually receive a post card)
