I have been working the past year on a piece-a-day project titled 'These Moments Existed'; a project exploring everyday moments with an air of ambivalence and melancholy. My goal was to create a new body of work by making something each day for a year, to exhibit at Gruwald Gallery at Indiana University in October 2013 as part of an upcoming jewellery conference 'Zoom: Examining the Future of Craft', and at the same time, exhibit at the gallery I presented my piece-a-day Masters Thesis Exhibition 'The Temporary Nature of Things' five years ago. This is my first solo exhibition in five years.

Photographs from the 2012-13 piece-a-day project, printed the same size as an iPhone4 screen. The 365 photographs will be installed on the gallery walls along with some of the jewellery pieces.

The Challenges
This project is in its final stages of completion before the work travels to the USA for exhibition in October 2013. Part of the exhibition will be sent ahead with FedEx in September and the rest of the collection will travel in October. Short of the artwork not reaching the destination due to postal issues, the collection is on track for the 18 October 2013 opening.

Thank you! For this pledge you'll receive an original artwork from Sim's Masters Thesis 'The Temporary Nature of Things' exhibited in the USA and Australia in 2008. This will be a surprise gift that Sim will select for you. You can specify if you would like the jewellery piece to be a pin, brooch or object (NB: While there are pieces in each category left - if a category runs out, a piece will be selected for you). Each piece is unique and comes with a spall book with watercolour and haiku.

The piece will be exhibited in 'These Moments Existed' at Grunwald Gallery, and will be sent to you after the exhibition closes later this year.
