Maid of Horror is an Honours level horror/comedy short film for Swinburne University directed by Caitlin Koller.
You see that photo just above here? That should give you a good idea of what this movie is. It's about a lady. A lady with a large knife. She stabs people with this knife at a wedding and shenanigans ensue. Sound like your kind of film? Well that's good, because we need your help. First, a bit of a synopsis:
So, this is the story of Emma; perennially downtrodden and overlooked Maid of Honour to her best friend, Jess. Unfortunately, for nearly everyone in attendance at the rather shoddy wedding she's spent the last few months of her life setting up, Emma also feels quite strongly about the groom, Mark, and hatches a plan to see herself up at the altar come wedding time. Surrounded by a host of lecherous, cruel, and just plain daft friends and relatives, Emma's plans quickly begin to unravel as she slowly loses her grip on the perfect fairytale ending.
The film has already been shot and edited, so the hard (and most expensive) part is over, but now we're coming up to the last hurdle and we really need your help, friends! Basically, the film needs to be finished; it needs a colour grade, it needs sound design, and it needs marketing. This little fundraiser is in place so that hopefully we can do those things to the best standard we can get.
We are planning on getting this little Melbourne-based horrorshow shown around the world at as many festivals as we can force ourselves into, and your contributions would go a long, long, long way to helping us achieve that goal.
So how does this benefit you? Well, it doesn't really, except to give you a nice, warm fuzzy tingle time feeling in the nicest parts of your body to know that you helped a fun indie film get shown to a lot more people. Oh, and if you look to your right, there are also some fantabulous prizes and rewards for your generosity.
So, if you're feeling up to it and you've got any spare cash lying around that you just don't know what to do with, why not help us out? Throw in as much or as little as you please, or none at all! It's all up to you! Thanks for reading anyway and I hope your day is full of cake.
