The Jade Monkey is a small live music venue in the heart of the city of Adelaide. The Jade has always been dedicated to providing a space for the Adelaide community and welcome visitors to experience & perform live music.  We believe in fostering our local musicians and have always set aside a night for brand new bands to have a go.  This has meant that we have seen thousands of acts come through our doors, many playing their first ever shows.

Because of an adjacent redevelopment, our current home is being demolished and we are being forced to move. The Jade Monkey & Two Ships located at 29 & 29a Twin Street Adelaide will close their doors on Sunday 30th September.  After an incredible 9 years and 9 months at our beautiful 131 year old bluestone building it's time to say goodbye.

We do what we do for love rather than money & have managed to get by due to cheap rental conditions.  Our business began almost a decade ago when live music venues were becoming increasingly scarce & unfortunately this has become even more of an issue over time due to the increase in inner-city dwellings & related noise restrictions.  We are now faced with the reality that because of a lack of suitable premises, the very high cost of relocating & severely increased rent may prevent us from being able to re-open.  Though the amount we're hoping to achieve with this site will not come close to financing this endeavour, it will make more of a difference than you fine people can possibly imagine.

We simply want to continue to do what we are currently doing.  The Jade is bigger than us & we are determined to keep it alive for all the faithful & the next generation of music-lovers to come.  Any help that we receive will be greatly appreciated & used to create something special that will be for everybody in our fine city, our visiting friends & particularly for anyone who has ever supported us.
