Blankets for Monklets

Blankets for monklets is fairly self-explanatory! It's a simple request from me to you that we all chip in a few dollars to help purchase some cosy new blankets which will keep seventeen little monks from freezing in the upcoming Winter!
The little monks belong to a local Buddhist school which is located in a small remote village of the Indian Himalayas. Thier living conditions are some of the harshest in the world with temperatures averaging -14 degrees (celcius) in the winter with a record low of -26 degrees last year. It is COLD beyond belief and a simple gesture of blankets would be warmly received (pun intended!)
I spent two months teaching at the school in 2012, and I've returned this year for another few months to help lend a hand. They don't actively ask for much but having witnessed first hand the state of their inadequate bedding I can't help but see the opportunity to give the gift of warmth.
The school itself is supported by the Indian Government, but the hostel accommodation relies exclusively on community support. The local villagers do the best with what they've got - donating bare essentials such as dahl, rice, and fuel... but for the last few years, the priority of warm, cosy (and not crusty!) blankets seems to have slipped.
It's a simple request. 17 blankets at a cost of approximately $18 each.
Whether it's guilt, the promise of good karma or just a random act of your own selfless generosity - a small donation from a lot of people will help warm the hearts and bodies (awww!) of children less fortunate than you. And that... is awesome!
The Challenges
You pledge cash, I buy blackets. There's no middle man - noone taking a 'cut'.. it's just you, your good intentions to help people less fortunate than yourself... and me (for the logistics).
I will personally shop for the blankets (with the help of a trusted local to ensure the best market price!) AND I'll ensure prompt delivery to the school - just in time to keep the little monks to be snug as bugs for the freezing (on average -14 degrees celcious!) winter.
If by chance there is any money leftover, I will use it to purchase other neccessary items for the students... like shoes. Or socks. YES!!! Nothing beats a warm pair of socks! AWESOME!

Handing over a a fiver is just loose change but if you, and a few of your friends can spare it - the little Matho monklets will get new blankets. The reward? Smiling faces of innocent children... and a personal feeling of having selflessly contributed to the well being and warmth of others. WINNING!
A donation of $15 almost covers the cost of a blanket... and that, is AWESOME. If you give a monk a blanket, other than some seriously good karma - you'll sleep well at night knowing that you have single handedly ensured the comfortable cosy sleep of another human. WOW.
A $25 contribution makes the fundraising process a little less painful! It's more than the cost of a single blanket and would be well rewarded with a personal thank you card AND a signed photo of the little monks.
