The joy, the depth of surrender, the feeling of connections—to others, to one's surroundings, to one's inner life—at a world congress creates a sense of oneness and opens the space for each person to grow in a broader way.
Help support the Subud community by supporting the youth. Contributing to this campaign will help pay for the travel costs for 6 youth to attend the 2014 Subud World Congress in Puebla, Mexico, and you get to enjoy some fun rewards on us! This campaign will cover the travel costs of 6 young people who will then go on to help create projects at Congress including Fashionation, Congress TV, film making, Creativity in Captivity and many many more.
For those who aren't already familiar with Subud, it is an association of people who are dedicated to respecting, learning from, and honoring with the divine force within each one of us—regardless of what you call it and how you interact with it—through a spiritual exercise known as the latihan. Subud is open to people of all religious affiliation, as well as those with none. Members come from different cultures, nationalities, and walks of life, and there is no particular Subud dogma that they are required to accept. The essence of Subud is each individual's personal experience of the latihan.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Every dollar contributed will go toward supporting youth travel. These folks come from all over the world, and grants have already been given to folks from India, Chile, Indonesia, Germany, and Colombia. These youth are active in their communities and are already planning ways to contribute—not just to the world congress, but to groups at the local, national, and international levels.
We will be allocating just over $1,500 to each of the 6 youth selected to receive these grants to cover the costs of the planes, trains and automobiles they will use to get to congress.

The Challenges
We have only a short amount of time to be able to raise enough money to support the dozens of youth who are asking for support. We need as much help as we can get to make this a success. We want everyone to be able to be a part of this effort and take ownership of it—including people from countries that may not be able to contribute high-dollar amounts, but can still chip in $5—as the world congress is an exciting, enlightening, creative event, and one that the whole membership should contribute towards.
The Subud experience is one that we all feel and benefit from, regardless of country border. Calling one, calling all—this is your youth, your organization. Treat it as such!
