Georg Tamm is a 19 year old student currently undertaking a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Science at the University of Sydney. Recently Georg felt the unimaginable pain of losing his mother, having already lost his father in August of last year. This has left Georg in the position of not only having to finance the funeral of a parent at such a young age, but also having to provide enough funds to support his own living costs having recently moved out of home. Unfortunately, after these unexpected costs Georg is now unable to afford his next semester of University. I truly believe it is in his best interests to continue studying and be supported by his new network of friends.
Georg came to Australia form Germany in 2008 and became a permanent resident in 2009. In addition to his studies, he courageously ran for the University of Sydney Union Board of Directors earlier this year - jumping straight into University and all that it can offer. However, as a permanent resident, he is unable to access HECS and so must pay his domestic fees upfront. We have had lengthy correspondence with the University and they can only offer a $2000 interest free loan that must be repaid in the year. While this $2,000 loan will help Georg, he really needs financial relief.
Pozible allows us as his friends and supporters to help raise the $3,000 he needs to attend University in August. This $3,000 will directly cover his tuition fees and compulsory Student Services and Amenities Fee.
Any contribution you make will not leave your account until we raise the full amount. It can just be a spare $10 or $20 from your next paycheck because lots of little donations can add up to truly make a big difference. This financial relief will allow Georg the time he needs to cope with his circumstances and hopefully progress through university.
