Hey, you’ve made it to our Pozible page. Great!  





Following on from the success earlier this year to record and release two jazz fusion albums and film them live in concert (thank you immensely again to our past Pozible supporters!), our ensemble 'The Bart Stenhouse Group' has been invited to perform at the 2016 India International Guitar Festival in Kolkata India in January! We feel very fortunate to have received this honour and are the first Australian group to perform there! 

The festival is the brainchild of the Indian Chaturangui (North Indian Slide Guitar) virtuoso Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya who is a grammy nominee and has worked with artists such as John McLaughlin, Ustad Zakir Hussain and Shakti as well as Bob Brozman and many others. It features great artists from around the world in a myriad of different music genres from Indian Classical Music, Jazz, Flamenco to Traditional Music. Bart has had the privilege of being able to study for a brief period of time with Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya in Kolkata in 2013 and looks forward to travelling back for further study.

The Bart Stenhouse Group performs 100% original music that takes root and influences from Jazz, Hindustani (North Indian Classical music), Rock, Flamenco, Afro-Cuban, Blues and Funk music.  

The lineup for the festival features:

Joining us on this journey will be master live sound and studio engineer Mike 'Beachy' Wild to record the band's set at the festival.

We are hoping to raise at a minimum $5500 to get the core group over to the festival but really need to $7000 to get the entire ensemble and crew over there.

Some of our other work

The reason we are running this Pozible campaign is to fund the airfares to get us to India for the festival. We are sourcing accommodation with Bart's contacts in Kolkata and are covering the remaining costs ourselves.

Flights from the Gold Coast to Kolkata with Air Asia are roughly $1600 each return. 
3 x return flights $1600 = $4800 
1 x single flight   $700   = $5500 (Trent is able to cover a single flight himself with other touring arrangements)

This amount gets Bart, Trent, Mike Wild, and PW over to the festival.

In order to get the final group member saxophonist Ben Byrne over to the festival, we need to raise an additional $1500 which would make it $7000 in total. We are hoping to reach this target to be able to bring the whole band over!!

The main challenges in regard to this Pozible campaign are mostly around getting the funds to take the entire band over and then co-ordinating the logistics once on the ground.  Luckily Bart has been to India before having recorded and performed there in 2013, so is familiar with how things operate with quite a few contacts in Kolkata (Calcutta) to help problem solve anything that comes up.
