Bloom Journals exist to empower a wise, compassionate, and reverent society through the gift of reflective practice - 

join us in giving the gift of reflection this festive season.

Since 2021, over 2,200 Bloom journals have found their way into hands and hearts across Australia and beyond. 

We live in dizzying times — too many options, too much noise, and the weight of overlapping crises. It’s easy to lose connection to what matters, to ourselves, to each other, to the earth. 

Bloom journals are designed to be an accessible, empowering, and life-honouring companion to support you in this practice of coming home to what matters most, building insight, sensemaking, and wayfinding in our world.

Bloom's Model

As a not-for-profit, community project based in Naarm/Melbourne, James and Al intend for Bloom to become a regenerative engine, fuelling the production of beautiful and ethically made tools for empowering wisdom and compassion in our everyday lives.

With a once-a-year production schedule and campaign, we raise funds through the sharing of contemplative gifts for a local organisation.

In this way, we hope to both share the gift of reflective practice, while supporting a local organisation we believe in wholeheartedly.

Meet our 2025 Yearly Reflection Journals

A beautifully designed, A6, saddle-stitched, 42-page journal with 1 guided Bloom reflection process.

These are our staple journals designed to support your end-of-year reflection, now through a more ecologically sound and life-centred approach.

The themes of this year's journal that carried us through the design process were:

- Ground

- Refuge

- Calling

- Stewardship

These journals guide you through a simple and enriching Bloom process of 3 movements:
- Hindsight (looking back)
- Insight (looking in)

- Foresight (looking forward).

Additionally, this year, to create a more rounded experience, we've updated:

+ reflective prompts offered in a more eco-centred orientation;

+ quotes from a diverse range of voices;

+ visual aesthetic to match our guiding themes;

+ new embodied invitations and prompts to deepen your reflective process through engaging with the body, creative process, and conversation with the living world. 

+ QR codes throughout, linking to a digital library of guided practices and resources to support your reflective process.

Printed on recycled paper, with non-toxic inks, locally here in Naarm by James at Purveyors of Print.

OUR TARGET: We need to reach a minimum of 500 yearly journals pre-ordered to go ahead with our print run.

A little about CERES School of Nature and Climate: 

Fall in love with the Earth again. 

The CERES School of Nature and Climate has been offering education programs in response to the climate and ecological crisis for almost four decades. Programs are offered to all ages and skill levels, including nature playgroups, school excursions, workshops, professional learning, and pre-accredited courses.

2025 Production Timeline ("when will I have my journals?")

22nd September - 26th October: Campaign Open

26th October - 30th October: Collection and Finalisation of Payments

3rd November - 15th November: Printing and Production

15th November - 19th November: Distribution and Pickup

All orders will be shipped from Melbourne/Naarm, Australia, no later than 18th November.
Pickup will be offered from Your Creative's studio in Brunswick between 17th - 20th November. Final pickup window timings will be communicated to those who choose 'pickup' at checkout.

Community Acknowledgments

Bloom reverently acknowledges the Traditional Custodians, the Wurundjeri, and Woiwurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation on whose land we live, learn, and create. We are committed to ongoing practices of decolonisation and support of right relationship with this land, and the self-determination and leadership of traditional owners.

In the spirit of transparency, we wanted to share the cost structure of this year's production run. 

Journal costs

Yearly journals cost $6 each to print.

Bloom as a project has $350 in yearly operating expenses for domain and website hosting, and email marketing campaigns. 

Beyond the fixed price per journal, our yearly operating costs, and a small fee per sale to Pozible, all proceeds go directly to CERES School of Nature and Climate.

This is an all-or-nothing campaign, meaning that in the event that we don't reach our target your funds will be returned to you.
