Since 2010 Melbourne’s premier soul vocalists have united to bring you the live performance series ‘Women of Soul’. To celebrate five years of incredible live shows Women of Soul are producing a special unique album to release at the 5th year anniversary show in 2015. But this is no mere compilation album! Each vocalist is writing and recording a special song only available on this album to create a body of work that encapsulates the sound of Melbourne’s female soul contingent. The album will showcase to Australia and the world the strength of Melbourne’s female soul artists as a force to be reckoned with!
The album will include songs from Kylie Auldist, Chelsea Wilson, Stella Angelico, Florelie Escano, Lisa Faithfull, Christina Arnold, May Johnston, Rita Satch and Candice Monique plus special guests and a huge group song (in WOS tradition!). The album will showcase the diversity of Melbourne female soul musicians and will include a range of genres including northern soul, gospel, neo-soul, tear jerking ballads and hard hitting dance breaks.

Women of Soul have assembled Melbourne finest soul musicians as an all-star backing band for the album featuring members of The Bamboos, The Putbacks, Cookin' on 3 Burners and Deep Street Soul making this the biggest collaborative project in the history of the Melbourne soul scene! We can’t wait to share this incredible album with you and celebrate Melbourne female soul vocalists with you at the shows in 2015!

How The Funds Will Be Used
We will be using the funds to produce 10 new songs exclusively released on this album project!
The funds cover studio time, paying our amazing backing band to record, production and engineering by Jake Mason and mastering costs!

The Challenges
The challenge will be choosing what songs to record as all the vocalists have so many incredible compositions to share! The beauty of WOS is that all the vocalists work together as a team to overcome obstacles - the album is a collaborative project celebrating friendship, and harmony. Any obstacles we face we will be dealing with as a collective!
