PAWNO premiered at MIFF in 2015 where it sold out quickly and screened to great responses.
The AGE newspaper described it as "the quintessential Australian love story" and BEAT called it "a love poem to one of Australia's most diverse suburbs, Footscray".
It then travelled to Western Australia where it screened in competition at CineFestOz and is in nomination for several Asia Pacific Screen Awards including Best Director, Screenplay, Actor and Cinematographer.
The stunning score by Tai Jordon and Tristan Dewey is accompanied by a soundtrack comprising Tom Waits, Astronomy Class, Chris Saray and Vance Joy.
The film has its International premier at the official A-List festival 'Tallinn Black Nights' in Estonia in November. It is rare that an Australian feature has screened here and Pawno is in competition for Best First Feature, one of only ten from around the world.
It is then scheduled for an Asia premier at the Singapore Film Festival in early December.
This is where we need your help!!
The costs involved in entering international festivals, marketing costs and production of deliverables including dialogue edits, subtitling and the DCP'S (format used to screen the film) are expensive. Considerably so!!
$1500 - Production of DCP'S and freight to festivals
$1300 - To cover part of the costs involved in translating and generating a dialogue edit.
$1200 - Marketing costs for seeking International sales agents and domestic distributors
$675 - Further overseas festival entry with an emphasis on the U.S market
$325 -Insurances not covered by Festival

It seems to enhance the chance of success at the Australian Box Office, a film like Pawno needs International recognition before screening domestically. Whilst that is a little sad, these are the constraints placed on true independent films currently made in Australia.
We have had tremendous support from our post-production ROAR digital and principal investors that include the amazing Susie Delaney, Ray Montague, Bernadette Neville, Roger Velik and Mark Sambucco to name just a few.
So without the funding sometimes provided by government bodies and tent pole distributors, we seek your help and generosity to ensure Pawno the best chance pozible to be screened by a large audience.
Any monies lucky enough to be raised over the $5000 will be used towards markets in the U.S and costs involved to seek distribution there!
