Blank Canvas Magazine is an independant Australian based Arts Magazine founded in 2011 by two creatives looking to publish a high quality magazine profiling and promoting artists to an international audience.
A huge thank-you to everyone that has supported us this far, this project requires a collective participation and we appreciate all the support and guidance we have been given, we could not have done it without you!
Blank Canvas Magazine profiles artists and their works from a range of genres including but not limited to: design, photography, tattoo, street art, graffiti, custom cultures, comics, illustrative.....the list goes on. We support all forms of art, in particular Australian art and through the publications seek to provide artists with opportunities to showcase their work, promote themselves and any upcoming projects they are involved in.
Issue #1 was released in September 2011 which featured REKA, DOPIE, MR ZERO, DEB, KOPYE, BEN LAUKIS and more,
Issue #2 released in March 2012 which featured DABS and MYLA, PHIBS, FILKA, AWOL CREW, SHOK 1 and more!
The advertising interest and sales returns generated for both issues were successful for a new product but with an expensive printing bill at the time following up with issue #3 was not immediately viable. We have since sourced a cheaper but still quality and Australian printer and just need a bit of help to gather the last funding for the upfront cost of the new printer. We have enough advertising and realistic sales expectations to believe we can make enough profit off this issue to continue printing the magazine on a regular basis from there on, ideally three issues per year. We just need to get this one going to start the ball rolling....
We already have orders waiting for issue #3 in Australia, USA, UK, Europe, Taiwan and Thailand.
We currently have a team of 3 creatives working on this project and hope to give more opportunities to Artists and journalists/designers in the future. .
