This campaign is important to me because I believe more people should know about the huge roles women played during WW2! My show 'Live and Resist' highlights many of Nancy Wake's true achievements, her incredible courage, witty sense of humour and love of all things French. Supporting my campaign will help spread this incredible story and build recognition of women's contributions during the war. Secret agent and French resistance fighter, Nancy was known for being able to hold her own in a band of 7000 men (the French Maquis), swearing like a trooper (in French), could out-drink any man, and whilst feminine was "as fierce as five men in battle".
How The Funds Will Be Used
The funds will be used to pay the 6 performers involved (lead, 2 dancers and 3 musicians): 6x4 shows at $150/night: $3600
Purchase of a 2xhead set microphones: $550
Costumes for lead and 2xdancers: $1450
Technician Fee $100x4 shows: $400

The Challenges
Ticket sales are a concern. However as we are debuting as part of the Melbourne Fringe, we have a large publicity campaign in action. Through social media, several websites, physical media being distributed and connections to get an article in the Age newspaper I am feeling confident that we can get good numbers to this first run of the show.
