Filomena Frida la Torre

Dear Ones.

My name is Filomena La Torre I am an italian journalist, a counsellor and an artist. I arrived in Australia in December 2010 with the aim to experience and learn about Indigenous culture and traditions. This journey started in Katherine (NT) in January 2011 but unfortunately I had to postpone it to date for various reasons. The last eight months have been financially very tough, few issues with University arose and it affected my right to work legally. I have now decided to leave Australia but I will not go without fulfilling my mission: to make a photoreportage about Indigenous Australia (places & tribes). There are three parts to my project: research (themes/contacts/sities), collect written information and on site visit +photography. I would like to invite you to be part of my dream. You can decide to support me donating, suggesting places or people that can help my project. I am very grateful to have had the opportunity to live, work and study in Australia for the last 6 years and I am very committed to embrace whatever it takes to make my wish come true. The funds will be used to cover travel expenses to NT, QLN, WA and regional Victoria. Clean camera lenses and hopefully get a new lens (unless you're happy to donate one). I am considering the idea of making a video/ documentary, so I need to include the costs of hiring a person to help me with that. I am also hoping to donate some funds to the community centres I will be visiting.    

Challenges to my project are to organize everything by the end of November, come up with an detailed itinerary, bookings and contact the places I want to visit. On the other hand I am researching themes, what I want to focus on and how I can contribute to raise awareness and deliver clear and truthful information.
