Gone Home

Synopsis

In a small cottage lives Asher, a ghost who has never questioned a thing. One day he sees another ghost for the first time flipping all that he knows leaving him to question his presence and why he is still here. Unsure about what to do he tries to search around his home for answers while Oliver, his pumpkin head friend, refuses to help. Asher is left to search for answers to find out the truth behind why he is still here and who Oliver is so he can move on before it’s too late.

The Film

Gone Home is a JMC Academy film and began in 2021 as a small project for our director Alastair Butterworth to get through the tough loss of a family member.

 The film was built upon the idea of wanting to explore grief in a unique new light and have fun with it, creating a story that explores the physical manifestation of someones grief and how that may look and could effect someone along with creating a queer story where the characters being queer isn't the main focus of the story. 
The idea has developed greatly since being born and we are so excited to now have the opportunity to bring it to life but we can't do it alone. We need your help to be able to bring this sweet little film about a ghost and a pumpkin to life.

Our Budget

Why do we need help? We are a group of passionate students who know we can make this film no matter what.

 But, by reaching our goal and raising all the funds needed we will really be able to make the film even better! We want to go all out and be able to afford the perfect locations, costumes, set dressing, music and so much more! Raising the full funds as well means we can work with having shorter shoot days to make sure our crew is as rested as possible while filming!
