I am so excited to be finally recording my debut solo record!  This has been a very long time coming, and I am feeling all the feels.   I was so humbled and surprised by your positive reactions to my string of singles.  I am truly grateful for this community that is around me. 🥰  

This record will be comprised of entirely new works that have not yet been recorded. 🤩  It is a dedication to the planet, to community, and to the strength of women.  It is a story of adaptation and possibility.  Big picture, and deeply personal. There are 16 songs, which I intend to whittle down to 10.

Most of my album will be recorded from Sept 12th - 22nd with James Newhouse at Lamb Chop Records in Bunbury. He is a joy to work with and I want the album to sonically match my singles.  

I will record a small amount of guitar and backing vocals in Broome with some local musicians, but will send these to James to mix into the tracks.  

I will do a very small print run initially, and only CD and digital for now.  I dream of pressing vinyl... but that is a little out of reach at this time. 

This crowdfund is to cover the studio fees and mixing and mastering.  If we exceed the target it will help to pay for session musicans, pressing CD's, artwork, and travel expenses, 

--Why now? --

Next year is very exciting for me!  I am playing my first solo festival slot at Bunbury Fringe (January) and Nannup Music Festival (March) and I want to make sure I have something to offer new fans.  I don't anticipate the album to be completely ready to roll out by then, however, I will be able to release the first singles off the album in the lead up to the release.

I am going.  The studio is booked.  The flights are booked.  But I reaaaallllllyyyy don't want to go into debt. 

I am playing the long game with my music.  Life throws us challenges and changes all of the time, and I have been slowly and steadily building a career that is designed to sustain itself, and me, until I am no longer able to create.  Which hopefully will be the end of the line.  

To be clear, fame is not my goal. 

But there are SO many avenues in which to build and promote a music career these days, and a small and intimate fanbase can be more than enough to sustain an artist to continue to create.  

That's what I want to continue to build.   I already consider myself successful, because I have the privelege of loving what I do.  But I'd like to build on it.   

So it is time to make this record! 😍

I am crowdfunding to raise the bare minimum - $10,000.00 -  it will take for me to get this off the ground. 

It is NOT the entire cost of the project.  But this is an 'All Or Nothing' campagin, so my goal is to raise the minimum I need to make the project succeed.  The $10,000.00 I am fundraising for is crucial.  

Any amount we can raise above this will help me to pay the remaining expenses... additional musicians who will help the album sparkle, travel cost from Broome, pressing the CDs, and the costs associated with creating the finished product.  If I cannot raise this on here, I will look into other options.  I will work hard, squirrel away every extra dollar, apply for grants, and if necessary.... take out a loan 😳  (I would rather not borrow money! So the further we can spread the word the more you can save me from going into debt! PLEASE!)

Regardless, I am confident that I can secure the financial resources to release the record in May 2024 (and deliver your copies BEFORE the official release date)
