Making "The Invisible" Visible

When people are exposed to traumatic events such as wars, violence, sexual and physical abuse, bushfires, floods, road accidents etc, they may develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. In my upcoming exhibition, opening at fortyfivedownstairs on 24 September 2013, entitled "The Invisible", the work explores Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As part of the exhibition, we would like to publish a book. The "We" is myself and 3 special people who have contributed to the book:
Laura Skerlj - www.lauraskerlj.com - a talented artist and writer who has written an excellent paper for the book entitled "Gather your Phantoms", 5 beautiful poems by the amazing Abraham Nouk (Abe Ape) - Abe came to Australia from the Sudan and his poems are incredibly touching - he has specifically written one for this project entitled "The Wound". In addition, Professor Mark Creamer, one of Australia's leading experts in the treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder has contributed a paper explaining the condition from a clinical perspective. The book will be illustrated with photographs of my artwork from the upcoming exhibition (www.janicegobey.com).
The book will be available to purchase at the exhibition - we are hoping to produce 100 perfect bound copies as well as 25 hand bound limited edition copies. The limited edition copies will include a small unique painting on each copy. Everyone who contributes to this project will be acknowledged under the thank you section in the book and our rewards give you the opportunity to secure a copy of the book prior to the launch. The book will be of a high quality and will give me the opportunity to help others who have willingly contributed to this project.
All of the work is complete - we just need the funding to publish. The budget is as follows:
$2600 for the actual printing.
$500 for the hand binding by Phil Ridgeway at Melbourne School of Bookbinding.
$400 for the photographer to photograph the work.
$400 for paper for us to supply to the printers
$300 for graphic design and book layout
