The video above tells our story. Losing your hair through Chemotherapy is something most people dread. For women and children, at a time when they are feeling vulnerable and at the mercy of the medical profession, losing your hair is often one more difficult aspect of treatment they have to deal with. You are having treatment, visiting doctors, hospitals, having surgery and in the midst of all this you have to decide what you are going to do when your hair falls out.
This is the situation Claudia and Jenny found themselves in during their treatments. For Claudia, a hairdresser, losing her hair was like losing her most precious jewel. Deciding to have your hair cut short, then shaved, deciding on a wig, on scarves are all decisions Claudia and Jenny had to make.
It is our personal experience, having gone through the challenge of selecting and fitting a wig and headscarves that has resulted in our desire to set up a "retreat", a salon for women who are undergoing cancer treatment and losing their hair.
Our salon, "Stylish Wig Emporium" will provide one on one personal service in the comfort of our specially designed salon by people who truly understand the stages of hair loss and what its really like. Clients will receive personalised service in our retreat for services including hair cuts, the selection and fitting of wigs, head scarves and accessories. The experience will be comfortable and the selection and styling services first class.
We'd love your support to help launch our salon. We have the centrally located space for our retreat chosen and we need your support to get it under way. Your support will assist with our sample selection of wigs, natural products and the fit out of our retreat into a warm and comfortable place for cancer patients.

How The Funds Will Be Used
The funds will go towards:

The Challenges
Our challenge is ensuring all patients going through treatment know about our Stylish Wig Emporium for wigs, wig styling, accessories and how our service differs from other wig suppliers. We can also assist other wig retailers in the styling of wigs and help with their clients as they lose their hair.
We plan to inform all hospital chemotherapy wards, all surgeons and oncologists, the Cancer Council, Cancer Support Networks and all other wig providers as their clients may also want styling. Our flyers and details will distributed to everyone who treats cancer patients. We will have a website that outlines our services for people to visit.

We will send you a certificate of recognition electronically to say "Thanks" for getting our wig project off the ground. A wig in our collection will be named after you, your company or someone close to you. The wig display in our retreat will have a plaque next to it where we’ll inscribe the name you choose. When someone choses “your wig” they’ll see both the name and the story behind it. At the launch of "Stylish Wig Emporium" you'll be introduced to "your wig" as a guest/s at the official opening. Great suggestion for families & friends to get together share as recognition of someone close.
