Housemate Ninja makes the process of finding a housemate quicker and easier than ever before, by matching you to like-minded people and interests using our unique personality matching to match you to the most compatible result. You can specify exactly who you wish to live with and quickly match with those who meet your criteria, so you can ninja the perfect housemate.

Why is it Unique?

We are the first to use this approach of matching housemates in Australia and quite possibly the world! Rather than traditional job boards like our competitors, where you post your listing and wait for responses, this offers a supply/demand access at your fingertips so you can match to people who need and want to live with someone like you.

We've also integrated an awesome 'ninja type' functionality which uses psychological principles to match you based on compatibility. If you're a hard working, organised planner, you probably wouldn't get along too well with a go-with-the-flow, dreamer-type person, it would probably drive you crazy, right? Instead we've created ninja personalities you can choose to best reflect your personality, and if you're still not sure, we have the coolest test you can take to find out your unique ninja type!

About Me

I'm a bit of a square peg. I grew up in the tiniest little regional town and have always been creative and entrepreneurial. In highschool I used to sell handpainted 'quote' plaques at my nans little handmade market stall (waaaay before it was cool to have quotes written on anything and everything). 

I have a Business/Marketing degree and have been working in regional Port Macquarie since graduating in Digital Marketing Roles.

I have always felt like there was something great that I could contribute, and I love technology. When I discovered the 'startup world', I was inspired by the Glitter Bomb guy, a simple concept that went viral and crashed his site for several days due to traffic, and I thought 'there's something out there I should be doing'. So when I had the inspiration for Housemate Ninja, I couldn't think about anything else. I had to make this happen.

I threw myself in the deep end and taught myself everything I could. I read up on everything I could, connected with startup communities and probably asked a million dumb questions. I sat through every episode of Season 1 of Shark Tank AU with a pen and paper writing down all the questions the sharks asked that I wanted to cover, noted all the mistakes and criticisms and all the successful and positive responses.

But for all that, it paid off! Because now I have delivered many presentations in my community to business leaders sharing everything from startup resources and low cost tools to use in business, to encouraging a coworking space and establishing an entrepreneur community. I'm a strong advocate for sharing the knowledge I have gained so that the learning curve for others isn't as big as it was for me. I love supporting new ideas and I am currently working as a Business Advisor in the coworking space I helped establish to assist others wanting to follow the same journey or explore new options.

Ninja Tea Towels

In the excitement (or dread?) of moving out and into a new place, how many of you remember teatowels? We think you can never have too many teatowels, and our awesome Ninja towels say what you're thinking.

Available in two designs, one for the harmonious household, one for a not-so-harmonious household. If your housemate ignores your request to do their dishes, you can let the teatowel do the talking. For those who want to pledge some serious support, or for those who want to help but may not have a need to use the app, we commemorate your support with a personalised unique engraved pen. Youth Off The Streets

In addition to our physical rewards, we wanted to acknowledge that not everyone is fortunate to afford a roof over their head or a stable accommodation. Some of you may have felt the stress or anguish at the prospect of being potentially homeless, for others this is a grim reality. 

Whilst we do need your help to fund our project, we recognize that there are many others who need support as well; therefore, we are donating 25% of the raised amount to Youth Off The Streets. The more you pledge to support us, the more you support a disadvantaged youth.

Why I need your support

I'm bootstrapping my little brain out...but there's only so much time in the day to take on additional freelance projects to help with overheads and look after the family. Development is almost paid in full, but with all startups, we're going to need a little more extra towards the costs to make adjustments or pivot once we have user feedback so that we can grow and move with the demand of users. Any further funds will help boost the marketing budget.
I'd love to have you as early adopters - your voices and feedback can help to shape the future and growth of Housemate Ninja and your support is greatly valued. 

Starting a business is hard... bootstrapping a tech business as a part time worker AND a mum with daycare fees sounds like insanity... but we're nearly at the end and have gotten this far... and I just need a little input from you to get it over the line.

From our pledge goal of $8.5k, approx $500 will go to Pozible and Merchant fees.

25% of total amount raised will be donated to Youth Off The Streets.

$3k will cover your pledge rewards and the remaining balance  will help towards marketing and some overheads and reduce a little pressure off from bootstrapping so I can focus my time on Housemate Ninja.

We'd love to smash the target and we have a stretch goal of $10k which will provide some amazing financial support from those bootstrapping woes. 

However, ultimately our goal is to share our awesome merch with you all, give a little hand to those who are less fortunate over at Youth Off The Streets, get the word out there about Housemate Ninja and find an amazing group of supporters to be early adopters when we launch. 

We've got the app finished and in testing, so we know it's going to be awesome.

Our biggest challenge is that we smash the target and I have to order more merch, but this won't cause any significant delays and I have allowed adequate time for this if this arises.

We will be sure to communicate any unexpected issues but everything is nearly ready to go, we just need YOU.
