Kristin Stefanoff

Marie Clark Musical Theatre began in 1974 when an ambitious and passionate singing and piano teacher organised a production of Trial by Jury in her local community of Tea Tree Gully. Before this, she had organised concert parties with her many students to entertain charity groups such as Legacy and Red Cross.

Today Marie Clark Musical Theatre has grown into a vibrant theatre company that encourages energetic and enthusiastic people of all ages to develop their talents in drama, singing, and dance, and is committed to presenting musicals at a consistently high standard. Our recent productions include How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, Forbidden Broadway (received an Adelaide Critics Circle Award for Best Musical), A Chorus Line, and Miss Saigon (nominated for an ATG Curtain Call Award for Best Musical).

Many in the local Adelaide community view MCMT as having a supportive, family atmosphere, and we are proud to say we have given several now very successful theatre actors their very first lead role. Our focus is on finding new talent, and nurturing young people and those new to theatre to fulfill their potential and to discover the vibrant community that is musical theatre in Adelaide.

Our greatest challenges are:
a) paying for the theatre, the cost of which rises every year.
b) continuing to put on shows on a shoestring budget without sets and costumes looking "cheap." Fortunately we have a talented set team who do amazing things with the little they are given.

We need the community to get behind us, not just for the duration of this project, but also in the future, so that we can continue strongly. Pledging time is just as valuable as pledging money. We consider our volunteers of more value than diamonds, and thank them for their tireless efforts.
