TONOFWOOL = making sustainable australian wool happen. Show your support via a pledge or spreading the word.
THE FARM:
"Dungrove" is based in Bothwell, 70km from Hobart, Tasmania. Here's a look at the way of life that you're supporting:

THE YARN:
The yarn that you choose as your reward will be of 300 gram hanks of exceptional quality, suitable for producing heirloom work. There's 2 weights, 3 natural colours:

1 Naked (cream)
2 Shades of Grey(pale grey 20% coloured)
3 Black Sheep Of The Family (dark brown/black vegemite, 100% coloured)
4 ply: (shown as 2 - grey) 3.5mm needle, 28sts/10cm 1056 metres/1154 yards.
10 ply: (shown as 1 - cream & 3 - black) 5mm needle, 18.5 sts/10cm 465 metres/508 yards.
THE SCARVES & BLANKET

The scarves are made by hand using a knitting machine - above is a sample, but we'll be making yours custom for you. The blanket is made, and ready to be posted to you - here's the photos of the making, and a lil' video of the creation.
NATURAL COLOR:
The colors that you see are natural white, and black, with a blend of 20% black with white. Coloured cormo sheep happen rarely - one in every thousand. As far as we know - this is the only commercial spun black cormo yarn currently available in the world. These colours aren't dyed and don't fade or run - so are perfect for combining & for babies.
1 Ton Of Wool - Why so much?
1 ton of wool has been processed because that's the smallest amount we can get through a commercial scour. We're a grain of sand in their usual beach of processing, so we're rather lucky to get a foot in their door.
CORMO:
Cormo is a breed of sheep developed by the Downie family in Tasmania, which is akin to the finest vanilla icecream that you'd cross town for - it's that good. Cormo is a super soft next to skin wool that's also incredibly strong and fine - for the nerds amongst us, around 21 micron.
MULESING & SUSTAINABILITY:
All wool for the project is being sourced from the Downie farm in Tasmania, which stocks sheep at a lower number than conventional farms, encourages clean native pasture, increased sheep nutrition and excellent soil health. Fly strike is less of an issue on the farm due to low temperatures, so mulesing isn't as common - the fleeces selected for TONOFWOOL are from non mulesed sheep.
$$ AND YOUR PLEDGE:
Your pledge of money will be used to finance the bare minimum - $20,000 will pay for the following: processing, spinning, labelling, transport, customs & certification, postage, administration & sundries such as pozible fees.
DELIVERY:
One of the largest learnings we have from the first campaign on pozible was getting pledges posted out. Great news! We've teamed up with Radius Disability Services - a social enterprise which employs and supports people with disabilities to do the storage and distribution - which means that your pledge gets to you in the fastest, most professional and cost effective way possible.
RISKS & CHALLENGES:
TONOFWOOL %232 is one of the lowest risk products to be crowdfunded. We've previously successfully crowdfunded & delivered. We're pozible ambassadors, helping others with their campaigns. Our product is already made - what you see in the photos is either samples or finished product - shipping to NZ, processing & spinning have been completed. Labelling & shipping back to Australia will occur whilst the campaign is in progress. Distribution can happen once the campaign is successful & all pledgers will be kept up to date via weekly emails sent to their verified email address.
FROM LITTLE THINGS Aren't you wonderful? We'll email you a fancy pants card like no other, post you a sample card of each yarn if you give us your mailing address, and give you the rundown of the TONOFWOOL story via email.
