Booty Boys is a uniquely Australian comedy web series that turns the tables on the male gaze and asks men to compete for the approval of women - literally! This quirky take on a concept of merging a reality TV and pagenants is sure to tickle your funny bone! We have already started filming and the initial episode has shapped up well. We need your help to ramp up production to take advantage of the better weather and the ease in restrictions.

Men of varying ages, sizes, and nationalities will compete in a series of weird and wonderful tasks to prove they have what it takes to please a woman, and they’ll do it all in gold booty shorts. Each of our chatacters also have a persona based on their previous job in life before applying to be a booty boy contestant. This will dictate what they wear and how they react to each training/performance session.

Part beauty pageant, part Survivor, and part tongue in cheek gender flipped comedy. Booty Boys might make you question the world we live in, but it will definitely make you laugh. 

The Booty Boys cast and crew is made up of passionate filmmakers who are volunteering their time and creative energy to bring this series to the world. There are members of the cast who have worked in film and tv for years and we are giving them an opportunity to shine in this series. We are also giving some newbies a chance to have a go and learn on the job.

As independent filmmakers with an array of experience, we know that most of the people in our circle are also artists trying to get by and we know that, like us, you're hearing about a lot of crowdfunding campaigns all the time. 

That's why, with this campaign, we've focussed on finding rewards that thematically link to the series but, more than that, are just plain worth having. 

This includes foot massages (a steal for only $30), a back and crack wax (perfect for a post-lockdown spruce up), and pole dancing lessons at Melbourne's original pole & aerial fitness studio, Pole Diva's.

The effects of the Victorian Lockdowns has meant delaying the production schedule until restrictions have eased. We have a very short window to shoot at our location once we are able to so we have to work fast once we can. We are committed to creating a safe environment with strict Covid protocols to keep all of our cast and crew safe.

Over 2022 we were able to do some filming but it has been sporadic and over many months! After our first shoot we were on high alert as our DOP tested positive to COVID and we had to reshedule scenes to keep everyone else safe. Luckily he got the COVID from his work and no one else on our set was affected. 

Budget Overview

The minimum goal we need to reach to receive the funds we’ve raised on Pozible is just $1,000. We chose that amount as it will go a long way to help us film the next episode or two and let's face it people are struggling financially.

This initial stretch goal for this campaign, is to make it so we can cover the essential costs of covid safety requirements (like rapid antigen tests, facemasks, and sanitizer), and limited catering on shoot days for our cast and crew so we can do some of our bigger group days.

Our first stretch goal will allow us to cover the essential costs mentioned above, along with difficult to source costumes, props and set pieces, and properly feeding our cast and crew. It will also help us with anything we need as it arises during our initial post production.

If we are lucky enough to exceed our first two goals, the remaining funding will be used towards our other necessary production expenses to make sure our quailty of the final product is to the highest standard. 13 Episodes is our target for this series and we want to make sure the post production levels are even throughout the whole 13 episodes.

For our budget we have factored in several of the areas we know for certain we will need.
