We've been extremely lucky to collaborate with Lars Stalfors, an LA-based engineer who has worked with The Mars Volta, Matt & Kim, Deap Vally, Chelsea Wolfe and most recently Cold War Kids. Lars mixed our latest single Go Quietly, and we're so happy with the way he made it sound that we need him to mix the entire album. HE'S THAT GOOD.

Little Scout is 100% independent. We have self-funded this record, utilising any free time we have around our day jobs. We're so proud of and happy with what we've produced. We would love your help to finish and release it.
We live and breathe the DIY aesthetic - we record our own albums in studios, houses and rehearsal rooms across Brisbane (including Lush at Clontarf Beach) with some help from friends, design and make our own merch/CDs/posters with the help from some creative friends, update and manage our websites and release independently through a distributor. We love playing music. We love collaborating.
If we reach our target the money will be used (along with money from the aforementioned day jobs) to mix and master the album and create a film clip with local filmmaker Jaymis Loveday.

Brisbane’s Little Scout is currently in the studio completing the recording of their second album 'Are You Life?', a project that’s sonically turbulent and stunningly beautiful. The band’s most recent single 'Go Quietly' was mixed by Lars Stalfors (The Mars Volta) in LA, a collaboration that occurred when Lars approached the band after hearing their tracks on triple j unearthed radio. Written with Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, and recorded by Little Scout drummer Miro Mackie, Go Quietly pushes you and pulls you, sucks you in and shoves you out. Its recent release to radio garnered triple j and community radio high rotation nationally. The track received stunning reviews including one from the chief editor of New York City blog RCRD LBL, peaking at #12 on We Are Hunted’s emerging chart and #3 on Indie Shuffle. It’s a taste of what’s to come when Little Scout tracks their second album later this year.

The band rounded off an incredible 18 months by supporting First Aid Kit (SWE) and Belle and Sebastian (UK). Little Scout has played alongside the likes of The New Pornographers (CAN), Camera Obscura (UK), Sally Seltmann and Clare Bowditch, while recording their debut album, with Sydney wunderkind Jonathan Boulet in his garage in Sydney. Produced by Scott Bromiley of The John Steel Singers, Little Scout released Take Your Light in August of 2011 and generated critical acclaim from local media. First single We Are Walking Out received play on community radio stations and national youth broadcaster triple j, and prompted an east-coast tour with Sydney band Parades.

MEL'S FENDER SQUIRE GUITAR
This is in full working order and had a service in October. I'm really sad to let this go as it's the instrument I wrote most of the songs from 'Are You Life?' on. It's an amazing instrument and runs hot. Tim from The John Steel Singers just recorded a few parts with it as well. It joined us on our last tour of the east-coast. Signed by the band and shipped to you.
