Bring delight to the residents of Melbourne - let's draw a dinosaur in the sky!

It's easy for us to become trapped by routine. If we were aware of every choice we were making throughout the day, we'd be paralysed by the magnitude of it. So we create habits, and we start to believe those habits are the only way life can be.

Sometimes we need to remind ourselves, and the people around us, that life is full of surprise. And what's more surprising than a giant dinosaur in the sky?

THE PRACTICAL BITS:

Project Sky Dinosaur aims to generate $5500 through the Pozible crowd-fund platform in order to hire a sky writer to draw a dinosaur over Melbourne. The dinosaur shape will be visible within a 25-30km range, exceeding the boundaries of the Melbourne CBD.

NOTE ON THE FUNDING GOAL:

Between the recording of the video and the launch of the campaign, we've received an adjusted quote for the skywriter, bringing down the final figure to $5500. The video does mention $6000, but it's now $5500. We're that little bit closer to glory my friends!!

MEET THE PEOPLE:

Louise Angrilli, Project Coordinator

Louise Angrilli is an event and project management nerd. During the day, she works as Account Manager for Ferve Tickets, providing a specialised ticketing service for Australia's premier film and arts festivals. At night, she is obsessed by communication, leadership, and how to make a fort from all the books in her possession. She manages the blog "swirlability", but doesn't write nearly as much as she would like.

John Richards, Campaign Video Director, Producer and Editor

John Richards is an award-winning writer and broadcaster. He is best known for co-creating and writing the ABC1 television series Outland, the bestest gay-and-lesbian-science-fiction-fan-club-comedy ever made. He's a presenter on the Chronos Award-winning television-discussing podcast Boxcutters, he hosted the pop-culture jamboree The Outland Institute on Joy 94.9, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who he's running a year-long series of Doctor Who panels and podcasts entitled Splendid Chaps. He's a regular contributor to arts publications including Cult and Encore magazines, and in 1995 he wrote a song that made Triple J's Hottest 100. It was number 97.
