Nathan Seeckts

My name is Nathan Seeckts, a Geelong based troubadour who has consistently toured regionally and nationally, as well as internationally, over the past 8 years. Along the way I've shared the stage with some amazing artists including The Teskey Brothers, Archie Roach, Cash Savage, Tex Perkins, Raised By Eagles, Joe Pug, Austin Lucas and Cory Branan.  

I have created this crowdfunding campaign in order to achieve the goal of recording my debut, full length album, which I hope to release in January 2019.

In order to achieve this goal, I really need your help and support so I can successfully fund this project.

After releasing 3 EPs (all of which have been self funded, self recorded & self produced), the time has come to create a full length album with someone whose work I admire and will allow me to focus solely on the music and performance of the tracks while in the studio. Off the back of the album I plan to tour nationally and head back to the USA again, as I continue to raise my profile within the Australian and international Americana scene.

Recording for the album is scheduled to begin in late June 2018 at Union Street Studio in Brunswick, with the amazingly talented Roger Bergodaz behind the desk. Roger has worked with some of Australia's best acts, including Raised By Eagles, Freya Josephine Hollick, The Ahern Brothers, Brooke Russell and Lost Ragas. I know that Roger will bring out the heart and soul of my songs in a way that I just wouldn't be able to do if I was producing and recording the release by myself this time around.

Since June of 2017, I have been gigging and rehearsing with a fantastic group of musicians who will enter the studio with me this time around to really bring these album tracks to life. I am overjoyed to be working with Sean McDonnell (guitar), Matt Dietrich (bass), Rory Millar (harmonica) and Mark McLeod (drums) for this release. They are all amazing musicians and working with them, I've been able to capture the sound that as a songwriter I have been chasing for years.

I have never undertaken a crowdfunding campaign before and its quite nerve wracking, but at the same time it's pretty exciting too! I believe that with your support I will be able to create something truly wonderful with this album. The songs are without a doubt some of the best material I have ever written and I can't wait to be able to share them with you when they're done.

With so much time left in the campaign and pledges still coming in from you magnificent creatures, I have set a 'Stretch Target' of $5000 which will allow me to do a vinyl run and explore more ways to publicise the album when it comes out (tours/flim clips).

Tracking and mixing will take place at Union Street Studio with Roger Bergodaz (Raised By Eagles, Freya Josephine Hollick, The Ahern Brothers, Lost Ragas) in the driver's seat. 

Mastering will be handled by the incredible Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New York.

Like all independent artists I primarily struggle with two things; money and profile. Both of these are thorns in the side of the creative process but together we can ease the sting.

Undertaking the process as a solo artist means that I am solely responsible for covering all recording, production and promotional costs, so please help me get the word out however you can.
