We are a local youth group  raising money so we can go away to Melbourne for a Youth Conference called Planet Shakers.

The trip will cost about $300 per person -including our transport, registration, food and accommodation.

We've already raised $400 and we want to raise as much as we can, if possible over $1000.

Planet Shakers is a world wide movement impacting young people. It will give us the opportunity to hear from international speakers, meet other like minded young people and grow as individuals.

So to raise money - we racked our brains to think what could we do, what do we have as skills and how could raise money to take the pressure off our parents.

We decided to really test ourselves. On  Thursday, 15 March 12noon to Sunday 17 March at 12noon 2018 we will give up all entertainment technology. This includes

• Phones,
• Laptops,
• Computers;
• TVS
• Gaming consoles
• Music
• It even includes Netflix, Snapchat and Instagram,
• It means no vines, memes or cat videos for a 3 whole days

So how can you get involved? You can commit to sponsoring us to complete the 72hr tech ban . 

This could be $1 an hour or $50 if we as a group complete the task. Even a small amount helps!

Accommodation : $120 per person ($30 x 4 nights) (or $1500 all up)

Registration: $50 per person

Food: $60 per person

Travel: $71 per person (or $950 all up)

It's hard for our parents to pay the full amount - some of us have jobs but due to the high youth unemployment rate - many of us don't.

We are trying to be creative - and do something that will be a challenge - if we don't fundraise enough we may not be able to go!

Technology is so much part of our life! It will be difficult to give it up - but we are determined!
