Siberian Hot Toddy is an original Australian comedy with heart!
It is based on a story by Cait Harris and Arianwen Parkes Lockwood (see Synopsis below) and now Cait and the cast are workshopping the story and taking it to the stage for the Bondi Feast Festival. We also hope to turn this gem into a film in the future.
We need your help to raise money to fund this hilarious project.
Synopsis:
Sydney actresses Fanny and Toosh are ecstatic when they get a gig in Siberia as home shopping presenters. But this frosty set isn't full of cheese n' champas, but is the hub of an actor slave-trade run by televideoeniye producer Vlatkov Vivisexy. The actresses must now put their issues aside to win the role of their lives - their lives.
Where will your money go?
Your contribution big or small will go a long way (big ones just go a bit further). We will use the money to develop the story into a fully functioning script and theatre production. Your generousity will cover set design, costume costs and sound/video production costs.
At this stage the whole cast and crew have donated their time and resources and in Sydney this is big ask.. we have calculated that this is worth over 1000 volunteer hours. If there is money left over, a token payment will be made to our stars of the stage and wings.
"What about the money from ticket sales?" we hear you ask. The $15 per ticket is not managed by us and most of it will go to venue and equipment hire etc.
About Cait:
Cait Harris is a play maker who deserves her own genre. She writes stories, plays and films for modern day consumption. Her plays are absurd, intelligent, emotionally engaging, yet sidesplittingly funny.
Cait commonly appears at Sydney's popular 'Story Club', she writes for the 'Sturgeon General Recommends' and has written and directed a number of hit theatre productions in Sydney.
