Sleep Parade are asking for your help with funding ongoing touring costs over the next few months.
We are a fully independent and self-funded band who have just released our second album titled "Inside/Out" through Green/MGM. The album was recorded with Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, The Butterfly Effect). We have toured the country extensively throughout the past 6 years, including national album tours with Cog, The Butterfly Effect, Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus and Porcupine Tree. Our first album titled "Things Can Always Change" sold over 3000 copies and received airplay on Triple J and community radio and the video for the second single "Passengers," was added to rotation on Channel V.
In March and April we embarked on a national single tour for our track "Dancing With The Enemy," playing to packed rooms in Melbourne and Sydney. We are currently funding a nation-wide publicity campaign with Shake Appeal (formerly Reckoning Entertainment) completely off our own backs and want to give this album the best chance to succeed.
The main reason that we are asking for your help through the Pozible campaign is that we have been given the amazing opportunity of touring the nation with Dead Letter Circus on their "The Catalyst Fire" album run during August and September. This tour is a certainty (we have already been announced as the opening support) and while in the past we have found a way to come up with money when needed it has become increasingly difficult due to the rising costs of touring in Australia.
We have costed out what we will need to pay upfront before we even get into the car to drive to the first gig:
Flights to Perth Return for 5 people: $2400
Accommodation: $1300
Car Hire: 12 Seater Toyota Commuter through Stage and Screen approx: $90 per day
20 days including SA, VIC, NSW, QLD and WA runs.
20 x $90 = $1800
Grand Total = $5500
If we happen to exceed the target all of the extra money will be reinvested into either the tour or upcoming recording costs.
At the end of the day all we want is the opportunity to play our music for people and connect with them. We are in the band for the love of it and not for profit and by pledging to this campaign you will be directly helping us to stay on the road and to play great shows!
