Helping our Tasmanian producers
Record floods have severely impacted Tasmania's hard-working farmers and growers. The effects of these floods will be long-lasting. Please help Tasmanian farmers and growers get back on their feet.
The conditions in Tasmania are being reported as "worse than the state's deadliest floods on record, in 1929."
While the full extent of the damage will not be known for some time, farmers have already lost livestock and crops and will most certainly lose income.

Many government funded packages for flood affected farmers will have strict criteria which will preclude small and start up producers from financial support.
Please help Sprout Tasmania provide vital support to Tasmania's farmers who are within this gap. Small and start-up farmers and producers effected by the floods will be invited to seek funds raised through this campaign.
Supporting Tasmanian producers is at the heart of Sprout's endeavours. Sprout Tasmania is a grassroots, not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers who support small and start-up Tasmanian food producers get their ideas into the ground, growing and to market.
Sprout:
- offers education and mentoring to small producers by working with them to improve the health of their business through the Sprout Producers Program
- provides advocacy support to producers
- has developed an online farmers market, Fork to Fork
- holds an annual Cross Pollinate Conference

Please help us give back to the farmers and producers who provide so much for Tasmania.
How The Funds Will Be Used
We would like to offer Tasmanian small and start-up farmers and growers cash grants of up to $500 each.
Grants of $500 to 19 producers = $9500
Pozible fee = $500
We want to keep things as simple as possible for flood-affected farmers. We'll ask them to send short applications providing specific detail about how the funds will be used, ie: new seed, staff to assist in the clean up, accommodation, infrastructure. Three members of the Sprout Team, who are small producers themselves, will manage the application review process. If anyone would like to know more information about this process, we will be happy to share it with you.
We have put a timeline of one week on this project so funds can be distributed to the farmers and growers as soon as possible.
The Challenges
$10,000 will support 19 farmers or growers. If we get over and above this target we will look at supporting more. If we don't reach the minimum of $10,000 then we won't have the opportunity to support our farmers and growers. They work so hard to provide us with our food and produce, it's time for us to give back to our farming community.
Thank you

Our sincere gratitude as any amount helps
Update from our producers
We will provide you an update of who the funding has been provided to and how our farmers and growers are going in recovering after the floods.
