Satalyte Publishing is a brand new venture from an Aussie team, who want to see Australian works back on Australian bookshelves. Being an author and designer (as well as husband and wife), we have been involved in the process of book design for some years, and now looking at helping authors achieve their goal of seeing their words published.
In seeking an Australian publisher for Stephen’s novel, we found it an arduous and eventually fruitless process.He then sought an American independent publishing press and received offers from four companies.
Having been well received in America, Stephen was disappointed at the lack of focus in Australia.This excited us to investigate the possibilities to become a publisher, and ignited our passion to bring Australian authors back home.So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.
Both Marieke and Stephen are creative, but business-minded people that have the right mix of skills to ensure this business works.Marieke is a graphic designer and Stephen is an author and editor, whilst together and individually they have successfully run businesses.

How The Funds Will Be Used
Any monies donated will be used to grow the business from its fledging state, into one that will be able to lead the way in the world of publishing.
The initial donations would be used to upgrade existing computer infrastructure to manage software requirements. It will also provide funds to produce our first anthology in paperback, which include setup costs, registration of titles, and establishment of print runs.

The Challenges
The major risk with this venture is capital. Whilst we will be able to produce ebooks, Satalyte Publishing's main goal is to find a way to get our authors onto book shelves through Australia. To go into print has a considerable cost outlay.
