Hi, My name is Tanya Williams and I am childfree. 

I made the choice not to have children many years ago and I thought I was a very rare breed in the world however 1 in 4 women from OECD countries are now choosing not to have children.

So, I decided to share my story and the stories of women like me in a book. Why? Because for years we have been subject to judgement, being treated differently and being judged as lesser women by society, families and other women. I am sick of hearing "you'll change your mind, you're missing out and you'll regret it from people who have no right to judge what is right for me and my life.

I say enough. This book talks about the C word, chicks. Choice! choice! Choice!

This book is not just for women who choose to be childfree. I also interviewed women who are childfree by consequence, women that have kids are happy with their choice and women who had kids and regretted it. It is a story about our different choices and the consequences of these in our lives.

This is a book for women all over the world – women that maybe have had similar experiences to me or know someone who has or is just curious about the conversation and a woman's right to choose what is right for her life without being judged or criticised for it.

For my friends and family consider this as being my 'I'm not having a Baby' Shower. For all the years I have celebrated your life choices and bought you and your kid's gifts and treats over the years. Now I invite you to celebrate my life choice!!

Words have power and this book has the power to challenge and change how we think about women and their choices. Not just to have or not have children, but how we treat each other in general. We need to turn judgement into support.

We don’t get any funding unless we reach the target which means this book might not get published which would disappoint not just me, but childfree women all over the world.

Phase 1 funding will cover:

* first 2 rounds of edits & cover art draft $5,000

* ability to build the audience faster using some targeted ads on Facebook and video platforms to share globally (this is a tiny part of the budget) $400

* a professional media release and distribution to bring awareness to the campaign $400

- Part of the Pozible fees $200

The first draft is with the editor and the Biggest challenge is raising the funds to keep this project alive. This is my passion project and one that is very close to my heart as a woman who is childfree by choice and has been through the judgement and discrimination that occurs in society. This book will resonate with many women around the globe and it has an important message to share which is why I need to reach our goal.
