Bike Art Adelaide Festival 2014
A community-centred DIY Festival, Bike Art Adelaide is run by a dedicated team of volunteers. The original idea was simple - to display artwork about and featuring bikes at the same time as the Australian Cycling Conference and the Santos Tour Down Under. The first, highly successful, edition of this bi-annual Festival was held in 2012 and now we're back to bring you the second instalment in January 2014!
We're almost there as January swiftly approaches, but we need one last push to get us over the line. Having already attracted significant in-kind sponsorship from The Adelaide Airport and The Bicycle Institute of South Australia, and even a small financial contribution from the Airport we have been able to dream big... but we still need your help to make the final stages of the exhibition happen.
Curated by Tegan Hale and Eleanor Scicchitano, with artists Theofunya and team, Adelaide Bike Kitchen, Don Brice, Jacky Mutaugh, Steve Oatway, Malcolm Richards, Cynthia Gemus, Karen Cornelius, James Stewart, Obie O'Brien, Kat Coppock, and Loren Pingel and Jeff Pitt in co-operation with the Lobethal community association.
Just confirmed... Alicia Min Harvie and Andrew Haycroft are also set to debut a new dance work at an exclusive launch event.
*Bike Art Adelaide Festival is auspiced by the Bicycle Institute of South Australia; a registered not-for-profit organisation.

THE VERTICAL GARDEN
Lead by infamous yarn-stormer, Theofunya, the team will create a vertical garden from yarn, lace and bicycle tyres on the poles in the Adelaide Airport baggage claim area.
POST-IT
Also from the mind of Theofunya, this talented woman is worth 'noting' (we can't be the only ones who appreciate stationary jokes). Check out her previous work on the window of the Advertiser. If you feel anything like us you'll be teeming with a 'whole lotta love' for what this woman is capable of...

A fashionable Bike Art Adelaide T-shirt made to order in your size!
An invite to the exclusive launch event and performance with celebratory glass of bubbles for over 18s. Date TBC.

A personal curatorial councilling session with Eleanor Scicchitano. You will be given a one on one meeting and support from Eleanor to start or expand your art collection. This will be particularly worthwhile for Adelaide-based collectors and art-buffs. You may just get some hot tips on who to collect! (and if you've seen her art collection you'll know why shes qualified).
Official sponsor status! We will prominently display your name or business logo at the airport during the period of the exhibition. Your contribution will be acknowledged on facebook and twitter, and you will have the option of a guided tour for you or your clients with the curators of Tandem for Bike Art Adelaide.
