'The Tambourine Man' is the third film written and directed by Rod ONeill and Terry King.
'The Tambourine Man' is a short horror film that chronicles one night on a mysterious island. Four holidaymakers looking to get away from the city unwittingly become embroiled in an ancient world of cults, monsters and human sacrifice.
*Estimated run time is approximately 30 minutes. We will be treating this film as though it were a feature film, as extending The Tambourine Man into a full length feature is definitely an option.
The Tambourine Man will be shot entirely on Moreton Island, for its serene and alien landscape. As with any good film, one of the most important characters is the location, and we think Moreton Island is the perfect location for our horror film.
As well as making films, we also run a video production company which has given both of us a solid understanding of the technical aspects of filmmaking. Professional Digital Cameras, Lighting, and Camera Equipment is already acquired - this campaign is to cover the costs of accomodation, travel and catering.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
Film equipment such as cameras, lighting, sound and everything needed to create a project of this size has already been secured. To film this on Moreton Island we need to procure funds for transport and accommodation before the seasonal change in May of this year, otherwise it will become too cold and wet to film until next year.
Everything else from catering and vehicles to wardrobe and props has been organized by the production team, unfortunately transport to Moreton Island is limited and expensive and we are running out of time to fund passage.
WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS FILM?
We've had this story for many years, we made it up as a practical joke to play on a friend, during our first trip to the island back in 2000. We feel now is the right time to make it and want to use this as a warm up to making a feature length film - extending this story to a feature is also a possibility for us.
