The 2015 General Election is here!
Thanks to kind supporters of TOC, we managed to raise a total of $41,100 in our last round of fundraising earlier this year. The funds allowed us to continue our operations as one of Singapore’s most established independent alternative news websites.
Unfortunately for us, advertising has been low for our website – ads on our website bring us a little more than $1,000 via readership impressions.
Because of all the work we’ve been doing to keep the website going, our funds are once again running low. The upcoming general election is also going to be demanding in terms of equipment costs and reimbursement for our volunteers (we don’t want them to go hungry during such an important period for the country!)
If you think alternative media platforms are important for Singapore, please support us by helping us fund and develop our new media channel, TOCTV, and our general election coverage!

How The Funds Will Be Used
GE coverage
- Rental and purchase of cameras & equipment - 4,500
- Reimbursement for volunteers - 7,500 (Given that there are 50 volunteers, volunteering for the entire GE period)
- Wages for writers, editors, videographers, video editors - $8,000
Any additional funds would be used to finance TOCTV's development as a new media channel, along with supporting TOC in its mission.
