The Brisbane Collective

The Brisbane Collective (TBC) is the result of the collaborative efforts of one hundred (100) emerging and established Brisbane writers, photographers, artists and designers.

We are volunteer creatives who decided to get off our arses and start a diverse creative environment, giving locals the opportunity to exhibit and promote their work through our events and street press publication.



Co-founded by Megan Starr-Thomas and Jeff Paton, the backbone and brains behind this flock of partisans, our tiny team has grown big and strong since 2013. Harnessing a huge amount of commitment and a plethora of skills, we wouldn't be TBC without our bat shit crazy volunteer team, who work around the clock to ensure Brisbane's creative community can expand and thrive through our projects.

2015 - 'All I Want For Xmas Is Art' pop-up marketta. A collaboration with Primary Arcade.


2015 - Pop-up mural exhibition and visual showcase. A collaboration with Jungle Love Festival and Sugar Artist Acrylic.


2015 - 'Battle Jackets' pop-up exhibition. A collaboration with Swop Clothing Exchange and Stone & Wood Brewing.


2015 - 'Point and Shoot' pop-up exhibition. A collaboration with BigSound, QMusic and Crowbar.


2015 - Issue 6.0 'Black and White' pop-up exhibition and magazine launch. A collaboration with Crowbar and Stone & Wood Brewing.


2014 - 'Homegrown Peep Show' pop-up exhibition and magazine launch. A collaboration with Metro Arts.


2014 -'Creative Infinity' merchandise. A collaboration with Fritz & Christie and Red Octopus Screen Printing.


2014 - Issue 2.0 'DIY Till You Die' pop-up exhibition and magazine launch. A collaboration with Turf Studios, Cork & Chroma and Ironlak.


2013 - 'A Rockabilly Killer Hillbilly Hoe-down' pop-up exhibition. A collaboration with Motherboard Productions, Brisbane Festival and Cutthroats and Powderpuffs.

Essentially you’re supporting the whole of the Brisbane creative community! TBCMAG is a huge stepping-stone for many emerging artists, giving them the support and confidence they need to push themselves creatively and socially, and providing opportunities for future success and collaborations! But TBCMAG is also inspiring for all creatives and a way to keep up with the Brisbane scene.

Not only can you support our campaign by picking your favourite pledge package and donating, you can share this campaign with your networks via social media. By becoming actively involved in bringing more attention to our bold new ideas, art, products and the talented people who conceive them, our project supporters become a vital part of a truly creative, supportive community.

Once we have exceeded our target, we will begin activating our pledge packages. You can expect the packages to reach you in July/August 2016 and we will stay in contact with you so you receive all the updates!

Our first issue of the newly developed TBCMAG will be distributed in July/August 2016. Our second issue for 2016 will be printed in October for distribution in November.
