SCENE CHANGE - A Night of Monologues

The Lower Garden Theatre Project will celebrate it's FIRST BIRTHDAY on September 25th, 2018!

In conjunction with The Red Rattler, our production crew have organised a pay-what-you-feel showcase of monologue performances, raising production funds for Sydney Fringe 2018.

My name is Todd McHenry, and I am the Creative Director of The Lower Garden Theatre Project.

Our showcase will be featuring original, published and adapted monologues from:
- Mary Caldwell
- Ryan Chapman
- Caitlin Clancy
- Charlotte Huggart
- Scott Johnston
- Anthony Lovett
- Maddi Noonan
- James Stubbs
- and Gus Wylie

We will be taking donations on the night, as well as online for those who can't attend!

This night will signify an important growth in the company's size, bringing in a new group of creatives to move forward into 2019 and beyond.

In order to finance our Sydney Fringe production, an adaptation of William Faulkner's novel 'Mosquitoes', we are asking for donations big and small to cover our immediate production costs.

The play is a one hour satire about a group of Sydney artists who become stranded on a yacht - it will explore themes of sex, gender, creativity, loneliness and love. 'Mosquitoes' creates a dichotomy of the local artist, picking apart creative inspirations, and surviving as a creative, as well as commenting on whether art is imitation of life, or intimidating for the ego.

Thus far, our project has raised enough money in ticket sales from previous productions to cover the following:

- Sydney Fringe entry, venue costs and public liability

(60% of the overall production budget)

We need funds for the following:

costumes, props, set, and advertising costs.

(40% of the overall production budget)

With your help we can add additional levels of production value and be able to execute a successful show. With all our cast and crew being volunteers, we are passionate about the arts in Sydney staying honest and genuine and at a high level of quality without negotiation!
