It’s Tracy McNeil here! Thanks for dropping by and checking out my Pozible campaign. For the past year, I’ve been working steadily with my band ‘The GoodLife’ on what will be my fifth studio album - You Be the Lightning.

Shining a light on the imperfections of love, the desire to feel something real and the quest to live your best life at all costs, this collection of songs are the most vulnerable and diverse I’ve written. 

The band and I are so excited for you to hear the record – BUT - we need your help with the release! The album has been recorded, mixed and mastered, we now just need to pay for promotion, a professional publicity campaign, and the physical product on both CD & VINYL. There is also a national tour of Australia in the works!

MAKING THE ALBUM

First stop…The Aviary Recording Studios (Abbotsford)

On my birthday, May 11 2018, we headed into The Aviary to begin recording with engineers Fraser Montgomery and Nick Edin. Together, they captured the songs in such a stunning and authentic way – allowing us the time and space to perform unrestricted, resulting in tracks that range from a restrained delicacy through to a bold, fearlessness.

Next Stop…Madeline Studios (Preston)

Later, we called upon engineer Jake Rush at Madeline Studios to assist us in layering vocals and exploring further production ideas that my co-producer Dan Parsons and I hadn’t had time to explore earlier.

Final stop…Union Studios (Brunswick)

In April of 2019 we were still at it. Our final piece of the puzzle was to track vocals for 'Rain Fall Down' so we joined forces once again with Roger Bergodaz. Having worked with Rog on my second album Fire From Burning (2011) it was so great to be back in the studio with him creating something magical.  

FINISHING TOUCHES

At the mixing helm was local Melbourne engineer Alex O’Gorman (Dan Parsons & Angie McMahon). ‘Gormie’ as he is affectionately called, brought his fine taste and incredible musical ear to the table to refine the album in a way that we are so thrilled with – equal parts grit and gloss, just like us.
