Why would we put Fine Wine in a Box?? 

The Box is:

• Better for the environment (1/8th carbon footprint of the Bottle)
• Unbreakable – perfect for camping, picnics, boating and parties
• Healthier – allowing you to moderate consumption

And most importantly

• Convenient (Wine stays fresh for 40 (FORTY) days from opening - so you can have just a glass whenever you like (how often do you pour a great bottle that has gone 'off' down the sink!)

We’re on a mission to:

• Share seasonally curated, exceptional wines in an accessible way so anyone can enjoy a great glass of wine anytime.
• Showcase diverse and interesting wines and regions from acclaimed Australian Winemakers 

Who is UnBottled Wines?

We’re Mike and Ann Marie

• Mike’s an unqualified wine enthusiast with a history of building ideas.
• Ann Marie is a qualified Advanced Sommelier (WSET 3 certification) with deep Australian wine knowledge built over the past 15 years. She has worked across the spectrum of the wine industry and enjoys educating and sharing wine with her nearest and dearest.

So What's The Deal?

• Every season, we select 4 new wines for limited Boxed release from acclaimed rockstar Australian winemakers who have never boxed wine.
• We’ll find 2 lighter, and 2 heavier styles, always seasonally appropriate - Selected wines always retail at around $40/bottle
• We buy whole barrels direct, then package and ship it to our customers
• Cutting out middle-men means we can offer wines at a significant saving on bottled prices (as much as 50% lower to our first backers)

Our first release will ship in early-June.

Introducing our first 4 Selected Barrels

These Barrels come from Brash Higgins. A 5-Star Winery in McLaren Vale, South Australia. We look for progressive, utterly on-trend wine varietals you are less familiar with - but trust us (and the critics), these are wines you want to know.

They are:

-- Brash Higgins '22 Chenin Blanc (scored 95 last vintage - James Halliday)

Textured white with lots of salinity, crunchy apple and citrus notes with a touch of licorice and wild honey on the finish. (Scored 95 last vintage)

-- Brash Higgins '22 Cinsault - Chillable Red ('Drop dead gorgeous,' Burnt End Cellars)

"Vibrant, heady, lip-smacking and guzzle-able"; this chillable light/med body red wine is "captivating drinking that will see you all through winter"

-- Brash Higgins '22 Cabernet Franc ('one of the trailblazing wines of its genre,' Different Drop)

Med/full body red with layers of purple fruits, violets and an earthiness. It's savoury with a bit of peppery spice. "In short, it's delicious".

-- Brash Higgins '22 Grenache Mataro ('light years away from boring,' Wine Enthusiast)

Med/Full body red showing great berry and herbal perfume and lacey, vibrant texture ... terrific with food or on its own. "Joyous... Imminent pleasure, here".

Meet the Winemaker:

Brash Higgin's is a James Halliday 5 Star Winery (the highest achievement a winery can receive in Australia). Brad has received accolades in the wine industry for his pioneering use of alternative varietals; for creating "World class, minimal intervention wines" and "Pushing boundaries and redefining the terroir of one of South Australia’s premier wine regions". 

How Does Wine Taste From A Box?

The same as a bottle. Amazing wine in, amazing wine out!

Our high quality food-grade Bag-in-Box packaging doesn’t affect the flavour of wine. In fact, the tap pours wine under a little pressure, gently aerating the wine on the way to your glass, opening up the wines’ full potential.

The best part, unlike a bottle, the wine doesn’t encounter Oxygen (wines’ worst enemy) so the 13th glass will taste as good as the first glass, even weeks later. (Each box holds 2 litres, or 2.67 bottles / 13 glasses of wine). And though the box keeps wine fresh up to 40 days; it's so delicious, we doubt your wine will last that long!
