Women of Heart Documentary
Synopsis
Post the rise of the #MeToo & Time's Up - Movement, 8 Australian women search for answers. One woman stumbles across The Heroine's Journey book, with which as a guide, the women embark upon a journey of no return in order to understand what it means to be a woman in the 21st Century.
This is a story about hope, bravery, resilience and feminine empowerment for all.
About
Women of Heart is an exploration of Maureen Murdock’s "The Heroine's Journey", which is the feminine version of the very popular “The Hero's Journey” by Joseph Campbell.
Women of Heart Documentary provides women with "The Heroine's Journey" roadmap to help navigate life in a fast paced 21st century culture by exploring the common challenges faced and provides guidance on how to overcome these in order to find true purpose and wholeness.
The Heroine's Journey map includes 10 universal stages the Heroine encounters throughout her life journey, three of the core stages being:
Stage 1: Separation from the Feminine – a time when a young woman starts to see the feminine as weak in a masculine world
Stage 5: The Descent – a time of severe pain, loss or depression where the heroine is forced to go within in order to find herself again, and;
Stage 10: Integration of Masculine and Feminine – The Heroine finds true balance & wholeness by integrating and owning all parts of her true self.
Women of Heart explores each of the 10 stages as they relate to the lives of 8 Australian women and sheds light on the importance the feminine journey has on our culture by inspiring balance, wholeness and feminine empowerment for all.

Women of Heart - Documentary invites you to explore Maureen’s Map and further understand what it means to be a woman in the 21st century!
How "Women of Heart - Documentary" came to be...
Have you ever wanted a map to help you navigate life as a woman?
A guide to help you identify where you were at in life and what to expect next, or even a universal roadmap to help you feel less alone and connected to other women going through similar experiences?
I've personally asked myself this question many times especially when I’ve struggled with challenging moments such as depression, anxiety, loneliness, tough career choices, relationships, family illness etc.
I thought to myself... there must be some sort of female guide to help me through these tough times seeing that thousands of women before me have experienced similar things.
So, I went in search of a universal life guide/map and I found Maureen Murdock’s The Heroine's Journey.
Maureen’s 10 stage Heroine's Journey roadmap has been utilised by millions of women worldwide to help find balance and meaning, and is also the narrative structure of many Hollywood films depicting the feminine journey.
Maureen Murdock’s 10 stage Heroine’s Journey map was developed over a period of 20+ yrs through her interactions with thousands of women as a therapist & educator.

Social Contribution
Women of Heart Documentary will donate part of the proceeds of the initial film's screening mid 2019 to the Cardiomyopathy Association of Australia Ltd (www.cmaa.org.au/) in order to raise awareness of Heart disease in women of all ages.
"The Cardiovascular Risk and Diseases in Australian Women report found heart disease was the number one killer of women, leading to more than 31,000 deaths every year. That number is far greater than the 12,000 deaths of women from common forms of cancer, including breast cancer."
