If you have ever had a blind date, talked to a stranger online, found yourself suddenly single or have been single for a while and are sick of it.  Even if you've just  known someone who has, you're going to love my book. I laughed while I was writing it, and I'm positive you'll laugh reading it. Chances are, you may even recognise yourself on a date. You'll definitely recognise a few of your friends in the characters.  Some of the dating disasters my main character has, have actually happened, to me or to people I know and  some are made up.  You will have to decide which is which.  But they are all too crazy not to share.  

All my life, I've loved reading & writing. I started reading at about 3 with a book of Mary Poppins. Remember those books where you read along with the record (I'm showing my age) and Tinkerbell rang the bell when it was time to turn the page? How magical were they? I was hooked from the moment I opened the page. I was obsessed with reading ever since and knew I wanted to create my own characters who would encourage other people to turn the page. While I will be publishing on digital format for Kindle etc, it was extremely important to me to have physical books too.  The magic of turning a page to me is priceless.  I love the feel, smell and look of a book.  
     
 I have so many characters and words in my head and they aren't going to shut up until I write them down.  I already write a blog which delves into the lunatic asylum which is my life.  It seems that's not enough.  It's not enough just to talk about the real stuff that's happened to me but now there are some fictional people who have taken up residence as well.  These fictional people are suspiciously like some of my friends and family but they'd never admit to that. I want to  publish their story. They are funny, vulnerable and a little bit crazy.  Okay, I lie.  They are a lot crazy.  


I need to do this now,  before I'm too old to enjoy my first next best seller let alone my  NEXT next best seller.  I'm 53.  If I'm going to be able to walk down the red carpet for opening night  without needing a walking frame, (when Hollywood makes it into a movie) it's imperative to start now. .  If you help get this launched, you will have my eternal gratitude, everyone who pledges will get a shout out of thanks on the website and even more importantly, one of the magic rewards I'm offering over there. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >

To self publish this book is going to cost me $4849.  This covers the whole process including editing, proof reading, design, marketing, distribution, ISBN, website and lots of other stuff that I'm not completely familiar with.  The price includes all of the above plus an amount of books and all the paraphernalia that goes with the business of books. I would like to itemise it further but I have been given this as a package price, so am not 100% sure of the breakdown of that cost. There will also be $250 of Pozible fees as well, making the combined total $5099.00. Postage to get the rewards to your doorstep will be dependent on how many rewards you good people take but I will cover all those costs.  The amount I'm trying to raise obviously won't cover all the costs involved but I expect to have to do a certain amount myself to achieve this dream.  I may have to sell my favorite pair of crocs and my David Cassidy & Jamie Redfern record collection to do it, but do it I will.  With your help!

Of course, it's not easy to get your book out there into the literary world and I fully understand that.  The reason for choosing the self publishing company I have is that they use 30,000 different distribution channels as well as they send media releases out to around 100 media outlets.  This makes my work so much easier.  I know I'll have to connect with many more media outlets but it's good to have some already covered.  I also have over 1000 followers on my blog and many friends from around the world who have already expressed interest in the book.  (Perhaps they just want to see if they can recognise themselves in any part of the book)  As a 53 year old first time novelist, it's not easy to get recognised which is why I've decided on the self publishing route.  I have many ideas up my sleeve to also publicise this book as much as possible once it's published.  I love thinking up great marketing ideas as much as I love thinking up great characters.
