A4's Melbourne Fringe Season 2013

A$2,065
of $2,000 targetyrs ago
Successful on 26th Sep 2013 at 8:31AM.
A4 Circus Ensemble is a Melbourne based circus company, established in 2009 by graduates of The Flying Fruit Fly Circus. A4 toured their first production DownPour nationally and internationally, including Montreal Completement Cirque 2010.

A4 is excited to premiere their newest work ASORE - A Series Of Rare Events at the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2013 at GasWorks Arts Park (presented by AfterDark Theatre and GasWorks) and we need your help!

What series of rare events leads someone to a life in the circus? A4 explores this very question through text, mesmerising acrobatics, foot juggling and rizley. ASORE mixes the tradition of 1920's travelling circus with the sensuality of contemporary circus. A4 invites you behind the curtain where nothing is as glamours as it seems!

Target goal: $2000
We will be using this money for the development of our show as detailed below:

$1000 - we would really like to pay our director a wage. Our wonderful director Anni Davey has donated a lot of time for free and we would really like to reward her for her time.

$600 - Research trip to Sydney to interview the Kermond family who are now 3rd Generation Circus/ Vaudeville performers, having toured with the Ice Follies show, Barnum and Bailey and the Tivoli circuit in America. We will use some footage and text from these interviews in the show.

$400 - Will go towards costumes by the talented Amanda Fairbanks. We want our show to stay true to the 1920's aesthetics and look.

Anything you could spare would be greatly appreciated!
