Welcome aboard The Pedal-Inn! - We need your help to get us pedalling!

Imagine if you could combine cycling, socialising and having a brilliant laugh with your mates all at the same time. Now you can, and what’s more, its 100% eco-friendly and totally sustainable.

The Pedal-Inn is a 14 seat bicycle with all seats facing a central bar. Each Pedal-Inn comes with a knowledgeable tour guide and driver who has full control of the bicycle. The Pedal-Inn bicycles are the first of their kind in Australia; they provide a unique form of transport, promote fitness and are also a heck of a lot of fun.

The Pedal-Inn was first invented in the Netherlands by our friend Het Fietscafe Stroe in 1998. The original prototype was called a ‘Fietscafe’ or ‘Bike Cafe’. Since then it has spread throughout Europe and America. The Pedal-Inn tours here in Australia will be similar to Europe but minus the alcohol. We will be focusing on bespoke tour guiding and corporate/promotional events. We already have the first Pedal-Inn here in Sydney and have sole distribution rights for Australia.

Trying to start a business based on a 14 seat bicycle tour is not the easiest task in the world. In fact if we had a dollar for every time someone said “You’re bonkers”, we’d be rolling in it, no pun intended.

Given the concept is somewhat unusual and because it’s never been done before it doesn’t fit within the various rules and regulations. Sadly, and because of this everything has taken longer and cost us more money than we thought and we're struggling to get over that final hurdle to actually get this off the ground.

This is where you come in, we need your help.

To date we have invested upwards of $60,000 to purchase the first vehicle and trailer, upgrade it to meet Australian standards, the Ltd Company set up plus website, branding and promotional merchandise.

We're looking to raise a minimum of $20,000 to get over the final hurdle and begin tours. The money will go towards the final vehicle upgrade, insurance and initial rental costs.

The goals of The Pedal-Inn business are:

+ To promote cycling in Australia

+ To promote eco-friendly and sustainable business practices

+ To create jobs

+ To make people happy (a little cheesy but true nonetheless)
