Sun Beats Down will be Australia’s biggest ever street
party powered entirely by solar energy!
The event will entail a
gathering of artists, dancers, citizens and Solar Sound systems on bikes, BBQ's, shopping trolleys, skateboards & trailers that will meet at
Federation Square at 2pm on November 24 to celebrate music, sustainability, good people & good times.
After our initial congregation at Fed Square, we will then parade along the Yarra River to Birrarung Marr with our renegade renewable sound systems all hooked up via a radio transmitter to create a raucous cacophony of sustainable party mayhem.
Once at Birrarung Marr, we will then have the kicking full PA and lighting array of the Germinate Solar Powered Sound System (provided by RMIT School of Media & Communications & Creative Environment Enterprises).
This will use solar energy to power the Sun Beats Down gathering and help us celebrate sustainability, music & a positive party vibe.
Deano from GoodBrew Co will provide solar powered brews, teas and softdrinks!
POLLEN Studios will create the art.
Terry 'Hobo Hi-fi' Stevens will conduct the renegade sound systems
YOU provide the party vibe!
Top line live acts including Jake Savona, Melatonin, Digital Primate and DJs Bass Bin Laden, Camilo and more will entertain with crowd pleasing, booty shaking tunes.
You get a FREE music compilation album download with tunes from SBD alinged artists including Spoonbill, Savona, Digital Primate, XQST, Melatonin & more as part crowd funding contributions!
Support this innovative, sustainable and exciting event by contributing to our Pozible campaign. Contribution to this event pays artists, organizers, security, event logistics and art installations. Our target of $3,500 is to cover our basic costs. The more we get - the bigger the party will be!
